I’ve used Cyalumes in the military for 20+ years. I know what they should look like when cracked. The vials inside this batch were discoloured before being cracked, and once snapped and shaken, they barely glowed. I could hardly see them in the dark from 5 yards away. Faulty batch, and seller didn’t respond to emails

I buy these every spring to keep around the house during hurricane season. I’ve lost power a few times over the years and these work great around the house to give some light to each room. They don’t give off a ton of light, but it’s sufficient to light up a small bathroom. Or use a few for larger rooms.One year I started giving these out on Halloween to trick or treaters. I figured, rather than wondering if they would expire and/or lose their strength the years in storage, I could give them out on Halloween! It lines up perfectly with the end of hurricane season. I keep a few just in case but they’ve become a hit. I think the kids like them more than the candy!

Very grateful for discovering this product. It does what it's meant to do--provide emergency light, very bright I might add, when needed. I didn't want to waste one light stick for this review but in all fairness to this review, I did just that. I'm glad I tested it out, because now I know what to expect when I need to use them in an emergency. Great quality in this product and peace of mind, knowing it has a long shelf life. Thank you for keeping the price point affordable. My order arrived quickly, in just 2 days, and the packaging was secure. I highly recommend!

Buy these mostly for power outages but sometimes when the kids have sleepovers I pass them out for night time fun (though there are certainly cheaper options, you get what you pay for in terms of how long they last and how bright they are). They really do last and give off a good level of brightness. So far I have tried the Yellow (favourite for brightness), green (kids favourite), orange and blue (blue does not throw much light but has its purposes).
