Cheap and Durable, Works as Promised
I got this because I didn't think a pressure cooker should suddenly cost $150, and I have not been disappointed. Especially with the pandemic, buying giant bags of pinto beans or chick peas in bulk for cheap and being able to cook them fully from dry to falling-apart-tender in two hours is a huge timesaver for a working dad.I did research some of the 10-in-1 type air fryer/pressure cooker combos, and honestly I don't see what they add over my $30ish individual components. Sure a multi-appliance saves space in the cupboard when you're not cooking, but I often need to oil fry some bhature or fresh falafel at the same time as I pressure cook chick peas for hummus or chana masala, so for me the space savings doesn't work. $30 rice cooker, $30 deep fryer, $30 pressure cooker, I'm still saving money. I think you could even get the smaller one; this thing is huge for supper for a family of 4 plus leftovers.Plus this seems really similar to the types of pressure cookers I've seen for sale in Indian specialty markets in the US, and Indians are one of the main users of pressure cookers, so that's a good recommendation. It's cheap, it's mostly metal. You can pick it up with the handle when it's at its hottest and run it under cold water to shut it down quickly. I think the lack of an electronic readout is actually a strength (literally, more durable). I've got an bay oven and a refrigerator with digital readouts, and both of the readouts cracked or stopped working within a few years of buying these appliances. I just use a phone timer to time it. There's a reason our grandparents insisted on metal and glass construction.

This has brought me joy and new skill set.
I bought this because I saw a recipe and demonstration on YouTube put out by America’sTest Kitchen. They demonstrated how to make “Farmhouse Chicken Noodle soup” in a pressure cooker. I was intrigued by that video; they raved about the flavor of the soup and explained how a pressure cooker I handed food flavors.I made this soup yesterday exactly as they directed and I made it in this pot.Oh my!!!!!! I’m making it again today!!!! The end product, the soup, was so superior to any soup I’ve ever made in a traditional pot. The whole chicken I put in was moist and delicious. The flavors melded together beautifully. I feel like a restaurant chef with this recipe and with my pressure cooker. It has brought me extreme joy that I can make a superb chicken noodle soup for my friends and family when they are ill or just need a lovely phenomenal comfort food. This is just the first meal. I am so excited to make other recipes in this wonderful vessel. The price is super. Read up about pressure cooking before you cook. There are some things you need to know. I was nervous about using it, but after doing some reading online and watching you tube videos, this pot is safe and the learning curve is not so steep. Do be careful though!!Enjoy!!!! Off to make a second pot of soup now!

Pressure cooker
It's nice and perfect size to make beans or whatever you plan to make in it. It would of been nice if it had more than one pressure on it but it still is what we were looking for

Working well.
Bought this to replace a different brand of pressure cooker that I destroyed By forgetting to put water in it! Duh...This one is basically the same in operation but has less plastic bits.I also like the attached handles. The other brand had handles that you had to attach, after some time they would get loose and have to be re-tightened.What I like best is the top valve that has a small metal wire that keeps it on the metal nipple but loose.Instead of putting the whole unit under cold water to reduce the pressure and waste water, you can CAREFULLY pull up, release the steam and not burn your hands.Recommended

No pressure pressure cooker
Initially, I bought one of the electronic pressure cookers, and I felt like it was too much of a hassle to use it. I went to my sister's house one day and I saw that my brother in law had an old fashioned pressure cooker like this. I didn't even know they made them non-electric anymore, and I asked him how he liked it. He explained that this new pressure cooker is very different from the old one. Instead of dousing your meat in water and basically boiling it, you're able to use the steam from the food in order to cook it, quickly. I had to order my own. I then went to the store and bought some accessories like a steaming tray. I love my pressure cooker. It made a big difference to steam my meat. It holds the flavor, and keep it tender.
