Interesting shoe (or is it a sock?)
These run small, buy a size up.They are comfortable, and have a good balance between grip and slip (be a little careful when stretching for side splits if you can’t go all the way down as these will slide a little more then barefoot in that scenario. Grip for kicks is very good, I haven’t felt any excessive slip (nor excessive grip) there, even on spinning/turning kicks). I use these for taekwondo and kummooyeh on mats with texture/grip that were causing small tears in my skin, these prevent that. These are as close to barefoot as you will get with a shoe, you don't lose anything like you do with a traditional martial arts shoe.I also have fairly wide feet and these stretch to fit very well (most martial arts shoes pinch in the toes a lot for me).I dont know how long these will last, I have used them for about a dozen sessions and they are holding up fine so far. I think the bottom material will likely wear over several dozen sessions as there isnt a ton of material there. There is some reinforcement on the primary pivot point which will help.

Good option if you don't want bare feet for Tae Kwon Do
I use these shoes for Taekwondo practice because I don't want bare feet. They work better for me than practicing in shoes. They are thin and light, which is what I wanted. I do occasionally practice barefoot on my home gym, but I always use these at the commercial gym. These are a close second to practicing barefoot.I spray them with Lysol after using them. I wash them once a week. My feet are size 10 wide women's. I ordered size five large. They do not slide around on my feet. My big toe is right to the end of the shoes. Next time I may try one size bigger but I feel they may slide around on my feet if I get them too big. They're a little leather pads on the bottom of the soles. That part is holding up well. They do show somewhere around the pad from when I pivot on my foot.

Handy and compact
Love that these come in a little bag, and they are nice and soft. I have gotten several compliments at my local dojo.I like them, but the largest size is very snug on me, I wear a US 12.5" wide shoe size.Only other thought is it would be great to see these in black. Though the navy are dark, when up against black martial arts pants, it is pretty obvious that the color doesn't match.

stitching is not well constructed
I really wanted to love these. They were exactly what I was looking for in a taekwondo shoe:- very lightweight (like a sock)- flexible- it's as close to barefoot as I could get while protecting my feet from mat burn- slightly thicker padding for the ball of the foot and heel (perfect for pivoting)- the breathable material is fantasticHOWEVER, it's been less than one month and there is already a run/hole in the fabric at the bottom of the shoe, and the stitches are fraying on the edges. Both my husband and daughter each have a pair for their own, and have not had the same issues as I have.

good item
I was not sure how those shoes would work. Now after four weeks of use I can tell they work well for me as an alternative to bearfoot work in a studio preventing skin scratches.
