Well Engineered
While it is a little pricey, nothing else on the market comes close to the Bora Portamate. It is engineered different than any other tables I've looked at and the engineering is great. It is sturdy and all the mechanics work smoothly. The assembly / Usage instructions could be better as there are two sets of washers that aren't easy to distinguish which one goes behind the wheel but as you get to the table top it is obvious the larger set is used there. Fine adjustment of the material support height takes some give and take but they stay put once dialed in. Considering the price of all well made shop equipment I don't feel this table is overpriced at all and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a saw stand that will stay in their shop as compared to a contractor who plans to haul it from job to job.

Be careful ordering through Amazon...
Jun2020/ 2 Stars: When I received the box, it was beaten beyond belief but I was hopeful that the contents inside were intact. To my surprise it looked to be BUT once I put it together, I realized that it was not functional. The top where the miter saw rests was warped unbelievably which I figured would be corrected when I attached the saw... it did not. Not only that, but the “squareness” of the frame could not be more off. It was perpetually at 80-85 degrees no matter how much I tinkered with it or adjusted it. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars is because of the customer service for the company. The woman was really nice and understanding and only asked I send a photo of the damaged product(s) and they would send a replacement. Fingers crossed because I had such high hopes for this product. I will post an update when I receive the replacement.Update July 16th, 2020/ 5 Stars: This product is AMAZING... if you order it from BORA themselves. Do not order this through Amazon with a clear conscience. I just received my replacement from the company themselves and for one, the customer service is exceptional. I will definitely be ordering from them again just because of that. And two, she told me that they were out of stock a month ago, said they were receiving a shipment in middle of July and sure enough on July 15th, it was at my door, double boxed, extra padded and WAY better handled. The contents inside were all together and not warped, dinged or scratch (as you would expect from a new product) but the one I received from Amazon was. After I called to tell Bora how awesome my experience with them was and to inform them about how their product is being handled, she told me that I was not the first person to tell her that people have complained about Amazons shipping and handling. That tells you something...Once put together it’s great! I have the DEWALT DWS780 and it JUST fits but fits really well for a 12 inch miter. I cannot spin it 360 degrees due to its length but I don’t care about that at all. I can still spin it downward in one direction.Tips on assembly:It can be a bit tricky at first but “hidden” within the instructions it says not to tighten the fasteners until the top is installed and has full, unhindered rotation. Once the top is installed, THEN tighten the fasteners and ALWAYS recheck the spin with every tightening just to be sure. I did this and I had no issue whatsoever. Other than that, it’s pretty straight forward.Again, to summarize:Product is excellent but I highly recommend ordering it through the company Bora. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

great protection for your saw
This is WAY better than the simple saw horse tubing stands most use. I got this because the simple saw horse" looking ones would not hold up to being moved around all the time, and I do not like having to remove the saw from the stand to move it. I was using the Bosch fold down wheeled stand, but the saw kept getting knocked out of alignment while transporting between jobs, so I bought this one so the the saw would be protected "Inside" the boxes cage. It rolls very easily on the large wheels, and the extendable handle makes it easy to dolly around. The negatives are that it is a little flimsy in spots, like the top has to be forced to line up so that the pins will engage the locks, and the flip table has enough flex that it binds while flipping. The expandable wings are great, but the scissor lift mechanism is not very ridged and doesn't stay calibrated, which is not a big deal to me as I only use them as supports for my miter saw wings I built. It also only has built in leveling for the front feet, no way to level if the wheels are not on level ground. over all I am very happy with this purchase, it does exactly what I want it to do, protect my saw during transport, but it is not good enough for my needs, as a trim carpenter in stock form.

The handle binds
Great concept, poor execution. This would have been an outstanding product if engineering was more thought through. The toss up is between having the bed rotate 360 degrees without hitting the sides of the case or the handle not being able to move up and down freely. I would have been happy if there was adjustment built into the two piece handle bar, but the screws were welded - really? So I am living with the handle bar being extended permanently. Some of the sheet metal is also pretty thin and not spot welded in enough points. If i rated product alone, would have been 5 stars, but lost on execution.

Great features and functional design.
The portamate PM-8000 is very well made although some of the metal parts could be a heavier gauge. The company should package all parts in poly Styrofoam to protect all parts during shipping. The portamate I received had many parts scratched and marked up due to all metal parts rubbing together during shipping. I was very disappointed with the appearance and was tempted to return.
