I'm an average diy person and this tool is easy to use. I don't know about some reviews are having trouble using this tool. A recent high wind took out the seam in my car shade cloth that was gonna cost me as much buying a new one. With the help of this tool, made two holes to the size of grommet using box cutters on opposite side of the seams. Punched them with tool to get a perfect grommet on both sides. To be honest you need to use both hands firmly to get a good punch. That's all. Couldn't be happier.

I needed to secure my drop-cloth curtains (pretty thick fabric) on my patio, so the wind wouldn't blow them around. I have two per opening inbetween posts (my patio is covered). I have them on a bar on top, and I tie them to the posts in the middle with nautical rope. When windy, I unfold them, and I tie them to the posts on the bottom, and to each other. However, I noticed that they need to be tied to the posts in the middle as well. That is why I needed these grommets. Skeptical at first, I was amazed at how well this worked. I only wish the grommets were bigger, but I will make do with this size.

Pleasantly surprised with how easy the tool is to use, how easy it was to make the grommets in the fabric I was using, and how simple the entire process was overall. I was expecting more to it. But it’s literally finding one of each metal piece, pop them in the right place on the tool, and squeeze. I was expecting to have to cut holes and the metal pieces to not stay with the tool, and things having to line up perfectly. Nope. Very easy! Very pleased. As the instructions note, make sure you only have one of each metal eyelet. The little buggers like to stick with each other.

Works great (as long as ur putting the grommets in right. Lol) if it's not working right check the way the grommets are- that'll fix itSo easy to hold and use, up in the air and not on a work bench. Love it!

I needed to put some drainage holes along the edges of a canopy so the rain wouldn’t collect and cause huge pouches that would weigh down the rather flimsy frame. I decided grommets would be the best way to do this, but I was concerned about how hard it would be to apply them. This device was fantastic. My hands don’t work very well, but I was able to apply these grommets by stabilizing the device on the dining room table and leaning on it. It did not take much force. I’m very happy with the results and very happy with this device.
