Excellent filament. I'll be buying many, many more, especially if the price stays at $14
Gotta say, these guys win. Period.I've gone though about ten rolls of various PLA filament from several brands (Monoprice, Gizmo Dorks, Black Magic 3D and others) and have generally found that "you get what you pay for" in that with one exception, the higher priced stuff has worked more reliably. In the case of the OHFILA, this has been one of the *least* expensive filaments I have purchased and I am more happy with this than all previous PLA filament that I have purchased up to this point. The filament feeds excellently. I have not heard the extruder slip, yet. It doesn't string when printed at 210C (a happy medium temperature that I've been using because some of my PLA filament gets stuck below that temperature and others blob any higher). It consistently exits the extruder *at the right time* allowing me to skip the single line brim I had been using with the Monoprice filament to ensure that the extruder is "primed".I was able to drop the number of solid layers I print to 5 (.15mm layers) and this stuff completely covers my inner fill by the third layer (though there are a few bubbles). By the 4th layer, things are either flat or very nearly so and the 5th always gives me a nice bubble free surface. By contrast, I'd had to use 8 to get completely flat tops with a few $25 PLA filaments with the same settings. The color is also very rich. The green comes out about the color of generic "Lego green". The initial layer which is printed nearly against the bed at about 80% the normal layer height is far more opaque than I get from other filaments and I was pleased to see that the resulting bottom layer was shiny and the printed lines were less distinct than with other PLA filaments.Honestly, at $15.00, I figured this was going to give me trouble. Turns out it was the best I've purchased so far.
