LOTR LCG: Standalone Scenario 01 - The Massing at Osgiliath (Gen-Con Release)

Imagine yourself 9 years ago. Being at GenCon 2011. Being a wet behind the ears fan of the LOTR LCG. You hear about this quest. Sure you know the game is hard, but you're eager to try it out. Frankly, you will never be the same again....The Massing at Osgiliath Adventure Pack is quite different than your typical adventure pack. Normally you get a play set of player cards and a quest ranging from tough to crazy. But this one is different it was a special GenCon quest and so was made purposefully very hard to beat. No player cards. No other cards required other than the core set. This doesn't make the pack bad. But it makes it very hard.I recommend not starting with this in your buys. It's almost nightmare level toughness. So stick with buying adventure packs first. Then when you feel like you can handle one of the hardest quests in the early life of the game, jump in!This is a good pack, but don't be thrown by how tough it is. Also on a side note, some people get a little confused and worried when they first get this because while the backs of the cards have the same design, the color is off. Is it a counterfeit pack? No the color variation is normal. As I understand these were printed in the US instead of China (where the game is normally printed). So it creates a variation in the color. Since there is no need for any other encounter sets to be mixed in though it shouldn't cause a problem to play through. In my opinion this is another excellent addition to the game! Just be prepared for the challenge ahead!

Lotrlcg is the best. Nothing can compare to the awesomeness of loving to lose almost as much as winning!

Everything was great. All as expected on both the book and the delivery. I could not ask for more than that.

An (almost) self-contained mission but need characters from the core set - but a good way to learn the game.
