Easy to set up
This is a great printer scanner. The software does the install for you. Everything worked first time. Love the touch screen. Scan documents into PDF's with one touch of the screen. It could not be easier. Great value for the buck!! Brother really has this figured out.

Nice Unit, Horrible Support
I work in IT and I have purchased a number of Brother products over the years for various offices. Typically they are pretty reliable and fairly priced. In the MFC and fax machine space, they seem more robust than similarly priced HP's, Canons, etc. After a recent experience with Brother support, I had to write this review. This unit is less than a year old and used in a business setting. The automatic document feeder broke and needed a simple part that has a rubber pad to push the paper into the feed roller that pulls it through the scanner. After diagnosing the problem and removing the part myself, I contacted Brother support with pictures and an explanation. After days of emails, they told me to make an 80 mile round trip to drop the unit off at a service center. Then the service center would likely have the unit for a week or two. I asked them to please send me the part and I will install it myself. Not happening. I also tried to purchase the part myself online and it cannot be found anywhere. When I finally got in touch with a Brother service center that could order the part, the part is on back order. So I have a $600 machine sitting here that cannot be used. This is a business and we need our office equipment working in a timely manner.I am deducting 4 stars due to poor Brother support and lack of replacement parts.

Lots of intuitive features
My last printer was another Brother that I bough 15 years ago. It was great, and it lasted 15 stinkin years, and this is a wonderful replacement. I have it on my wireless network, and my wife and I can print from any of our devices. It takes almost no time to warm up, and it has a great scan-to-computer feature to make it just wonderfully easy to scan anything we need.

This printer has NO color printing capabilities!!!
I ordered this printer for our office because we needed an upgrade (as well as color capabilities). I had read reviews commenting on the color quality, as well has tried to filter for a multi use machine, with color. There is NO COLOR.Amazon has been very supportive and helpful, the distributor could have been better. I received confirmation over the weekend that they have accepted our return (without the original box), and I have ordered a different series that had similar reviews.Experience Overview:The only thing that prevented me from giving this printer 5 stars is the color print issue. Set up was easy, it prints FAST, good quality - and scanning was made fun. I had to install this printer on 7 other desktop/laptops as well as my phone, and it was easy breezy to do. It is a pretty big machine, but is very handsome and runs very quiet. I was sad things did not work out between us, and pray the replacement is equal (if not somehow better than) this one.If you need a printer that only prints black ink - try this one and you will be very happy.

2 stars docked for inexcusable design flaw and a missing setting
I'm docking 2 stars for a flaw and a missing setting that are, in my mind, inexcusable.FLAW: This printer has a "stock" paper supply tray that holds 520 pages. However, the OUTPUT tray holds fewer pages - maybe around 300-325 or so.And, when the output tray fills up, the ENTIRE machine jams up. A piece of paper sticks under the toner, 2 or 3 pages bunch up inside the back door, and a piece REALLY bunches up near the back, and that piece is very difficult to remove. We have to keep needle-nose pliers near the unit to remove that piece. We've gotten good at it, but it takes 3-4 minutes to clear all the jams. There's no way the output tray should (1) hold less than the supply tray, and (2) fill up and cause such a bad jam.We print a LOT of 500+ print jobs and basically have to babysit the printer to avoid the bad paper jams. This wastes a lot of time.MISSING SETTING: Previous Brother (and other brand) printers have a "Toner Continue" setting that allows you to continue printing even after the "toner empty" warning comes up. On my old Brother, I could get 200-300 more prints after the warning came up. This model DOES NOT have this setting, and won't print until you put a new cartridge in. After removing the cartridge, I can hear/feel more toner in there, but I cannot use it. It's a waste of toner and money. The printer otherwise prints very crisp and clear, and is very fast (I did 2 tests of 500 sheets and came out at 47.75 and 47.85ppm). Setup was fast and easy and it is very inexpensive to print.

Great Fax!
I have used this fax for the last two years with zero problems in a high volume setting. Best fax I've ever had, and costs much less than buying from a commission salesman. My one complaint is the number keys are very particular in where you have to hit them to get the number you want. Besides that it's been outstanding.
