The gas struts themselves seem okay. However, the end ball joints have about 4mm of play in them. Additionally, the hole in the mounting brackets to accept the ball joints threaded part have the hole drilled way too big, or I had the wrong mounting brackets in the pack. Either way, not recommended at all.

I purchased two of these to support a swing up 6ft wide wooden window in a kiosk. The original design involved a prop stick which was not only difficult to use but potentially dangerous in windy conditions. The pistons make it very easy to operate now.That being said, installation takes a bit of guess work. First, you must purchase the right size for the task at hand. Then, getting your angles right is another matter. Even an inch on either side of the strut can make a difference in terms of opening closing ability and ability to support the weight. It took a few adjustments/remounts to get it right.
