Great pastel green for summer!
I love this shade! It is the perfect light green for spring and summer! I am wearing two coats in the picture and feel that it has the perfect amount of coverage. It applies smoothly and has a great shine, especially in the sunlight!

"Going Guru" Is Such A Unique Herbal-Lime Shade That's Smooth, Easy To Apply And Looks So Pretty For Summer
My first impression of "Going Guru" was that it's a unique and attractive shade of green, but it might not work well with my skin tone (fair but olive) or match much of my wardrobe. But it's so fresh for summer that I wanted to give it a try. To my surprise, I really love the way "Going Guru" looks on my nails. It's such a feminine and pretty shade of green- it's an herbal color like it's a mix of mint and sage with a hint of lime. The shade is opaque and light, but has enough green that it contrasts with my skin tone and is really eye catching but subtle. And even though it's green, it's way more versatile than I thought as to what color clothes I can wear with it. "Going Guru" is shade that's a lot different from what I normally wear, but the fact that it's so different for me is part of what's so fun about it. I think it's an awesome color.I found that "Going Guru" is easy to apply. The brush is somewhat narrow, but it's easy to control and grabs enough polish for a smooth application. This formula goes on rather thin and dries quickly, so it's a good choice if I don't have alot of time and need to polish my nails in a hurry. I apply a base coat, two coats of the polish and a top coat, and the result looks perfect. I have to admit that, after I applied my first coat of color, I was a bit unsure because the coverage didn't look even. But the second coat resulted in even and full coverage without any streaks, and the quality is excellent and on par with other high quality Essie polishes (though I've had the best results for my fingernails with the Essie Gel Couture formula). My pedicures always last at least two weeks with Essie, and I assume "Going Guru" will last that long too. Should it not wear as expected, I'll be sure to update this review. But I think "Going Guru" is a great color that will wear well, and I definitely recommend it.

Thin and Color Much Brighter Than Shown
I typically really like essie nail polish. It goes on smoothly, remains strong even when the hands are used frequently, and has such a smooth look when applied. This particular rendition of essie, however, disappointed.1) It's quite runny, causing it to apply in streaks no matter what I do to prep my nails. I can overcome that by applying multiple coats, but by the time I do that, it just looks heavy on my nails.2) The color is not at all what I expected. Yes, I know that computer screen colors are frequently not a great reflection of reality. But, this color is VERY different from the on-screen color. In all of the images - including the images of the polish on fingers with the various skin colors - this looks like a beautiful, muted, baby green. In reality, this is a bright, neon version of baby green. While in some cases, this would be a pretty color, on fingers it looks very odd - especially when I have to apply multiple coats to overcome the streaking. This doesn't turn me off of essie polish, but I'm just not a big fan of this particular bottle.

My Favorite Brand of Nail Polish
I've been using Essie polishes for years. The formula is great and goes on smoothly.Going Guru is a light, minty green. It looks pretty on, but is not as pretty as my personal favorite, Essie's Chillato. ( Essie Nail Color Summer 2015 Collection, Chillato ). Chillato is nearly the same as this polish, but there's something about the color that is really eye-catching. If you're trying to decide between both shades, get the Chillato. This particular polish, being light, requires three coats to cover all streaks. Lasts about a week with a good topcoat that you reapply occasionally.

Great Fall Color
My wife found Essie's Going Guru (and Essie's whole Resort Trend Collection) as great fall colors. If you're looking for summer colors, check out Essie's Shimmer Brights collection. Going Guru is a subtle, herbal, green color that looks great both indoors and outdoors. The polish lasts longer than most of the other polishes she owns and is very easy to apply - although the brush is a little narrow.

Streaky and cheap-looking.
I'll never understand Essie's popularity; it's the streakiest, cheapest-looking nail polish on the market! You need 3 coats (at the very least) to get the color in the bottle. This pistachio green color is no different. Save yourself the $$$ and get some Wet-n-Wild polish - it'll be better quality!
