Edit: I tried it in a lamp and it worked. But for some reason didn’t work in my pendant lamp light fixture.I got the item, screwed it in and the lightbulb didn't work. They're sending me a replacement free of charge and we'll see if that one works.

This bulb last a fairly long time, and I hope that it doesn't go out of production. I would prefer a more energy-efficient l.e.d. bulb, but for the amount of light they give l.e.d. s are too large to fit in the glass globe of my lamp.

This is the peak of capitalism. They engineered this to be short-lived so that you need to keep buying them. Light use for evening/night, it lasts for about 2 years. I have gone through 3 of them in the past 7 years.update - the most recent one lasted exactly 1 year. very poor product but I don't know if there is a better replacement for this type of special bulb.

I didn't know there were halogen bulbs with built in UV protection, but this has it and makes using halogen possible in many more fixtures than before.If you aren't familiar with what I am talking about, it's simple. Halogen bulbs give off a lot of Ultra Violet radiation, enough to give you a sun burn and damage your eyes. Ordinary glass blocks his UV radiation and in accordance with code, all lights that employ halogen bulbs have a piece of glass covering the bulb-- the bulbs also get insanely hot. The glass gets hot as well, but at least it prevents you from accidentally touching the bulb which would cause a very bad burn.This bulb has a built in glass protector, basically a glass sleeve over the bulb. With this feature you can safely use it in any kind of light, as long as it's rated to handle the bulbs wattage.

I use these in several Jasper Morrison glow ball lamps. They’re perfect

The depth of the screw base is not long enough to make electrical contact some sockets due to the diameter of the ceramic collar above the screw base but can be made to work by modifying your socket. Bulb works OK

Nice and bright light. It only lasted 18 months as a garage light before it burned out.

Great halogen bulbs, but wish they were more colour balance at around 5600 K. But still workable

I replaced my 150W modelling lamps with these 250W and no prob so far with my Alien bees B800.

just received 5 of these and none of them worked. some were in damaged packaging which looked like they had been previously returned
