This is a very well made ,quality product.Unfortunately it did not fit my plastic GI canteen.I returned it and bought the stainless canteen kit. Doesn't fit 1967 GI canteen
The cup and lid fit perfect together. It is of high quality, but my GI plastic canteen won’t fit. I will have to get a new canteen.

Item will not fit over a military canteen. The purpose of a "canteen cup."
Product did not fit a standard GI canteen. The purpose of a canteen cup is to be stored in the canteen pouch with the canteen inside it until said item is needed. This is not possible with this product. The good side is the lid fits an actual canteen cup that can fit over the canteen. So not a total loss....
