I don't know why it's taken me so long to try these sandals! Had them a week now and absolutely love them, they are unbelievably comfy. I have suffered with back pain for many years, cause unknown. Since wearing these sandals, the pain has gone and I can walk in comfort. I feel as though my whole gait has changed.I hated them initially - they felt hard, the toeposts hurt and pressed against my hammer toe. However, I persevered in breaking them in and I'm so glad I did. After just a week I have broken them in and can now wear them all day long.I can highly recommend them and intend to purchase a least one more pair.

They are my favorite shoes.Very comfortable and my feet loves them.Mondo size gives you a very accurate lengthwise fit. If you have wide feet you might want to go up 1/2-1 size.A good way to measure your feet is to place the heel of your longest foot against a wall and measure the length(Millimeters or centimeters). Now you have the mondo size which can easily me converted to US, UK or EU size.

I have worn Madrid's before but never tried Gizeh. I find this style is easier to walk in and doesn't fall off very easily. Unlike flip-flops, the foot bet provides some protection for your heel and toes and for clumsy people like me (who often kicks curbs and stones), this is appreciated. I can also drive in these and I wont drive in my Madrid's.As usual, they took a few days to break in. Did get a blister at one point right in the middle of my foot but that serves me right for walking 5 miles in them on the first day! I would advise a few hours at a time at home to get your foot used to the unique foot bed if you haven't worn Birkenstocks before (or like me, haven't worn them for a while!) before you take them on your hols.Love Birkenstocks and am thinking of trying an Arizona next, maybe in a different colour than black!

If you like flip flop style sandals you will love these, so stylish yet comfortable and supportive Great for walking in although these are for a beach wedding in June.

Would like to give a higher rating as these looked good however they were huge on me. I am usually a size 41/7 sometimes even a 42/8 very rarely have I been smaller and my feet are wide but these were at least a size too big, not just the foot bed but the straps would have needed another hole put in them. Sadly they are going back, i will wait to see if i'm charged the postage to return them before commenting on that but i will be disappointed i am charged as i feel i did order the right size.
