Trigger Point Pain Begone!!
Rolling on trigger points and tight muscles hurt. The digits on this roller seem to deeply pinpoint the tight muscle/ trigger point. Staying on the points for 30 to 45 seconds then stretching seem to release the pain from the area. I used this technique on my chronic shoulder pain that I was experiencing. Using this roller for three days in a row and then stretching right after I was amazing that the pain had finally subsided.

It has done more for me than I believed it could, plus I lost 5 pounds so far and that was not why I bought this.
Folks this is very firm and my favorite out of many rollers both this size and the longer styles. It's not just the firmness, but also the spacing of the nodules.I was being told by my chiropractor and doctor that I needed regular deep tissue massages as things were really getting bad, but I could not afford to keep going, even driving with my arms on the wheel caused so much pain in my shoulders and neck which would cause headaches etc. Since using this roller for the worst areas I have not received a professional massage and the pain and tightness has greatly improved. It's obviously not as good as a good professional massage, but I did it myself and it has done more than I believed it could, even in difficult areas plus I have lost 5 pounds by just rolling and holding to relieve pain and that was never my intended purpose. It just doesn't feel like I'm exercising. I only wish they made this one in a longer version(at least 24 inches). If they did I would buy 2 that day.

It also works beautifully. I have a constant knot under my shoulder ...
Note that the product name includes the phrases "extra firm" and "deep tissue," this thing is HARD. It also works beautifully. I have a constant knot under my shoulder blade that has been bothering me far less since I started using this, with the added benefit of my upper back being more relaxed in general too. You can feel it, if you're super tense like me it will hurt the first couple seconds of use. In using it I've also noticed that it seems to provide more firmness on carpet and less on hardwood which seems a little backwards but is useful.

A must for anyone looking to relieve tight muscles!
Ouch! But it gets the job done. I'm close to 6'0", 190lbs, pretty well built. Hasn't crumbled or distorted it's shape at all. Supports me just fine. And I'm able to roll it into those tight areas that need some relief. If you haven't used a foam roller before, might want to start with something a little less firm though. If you really feel like you need something to dig in and "punch" those knots out though, this is it!

A Deep Tissue Roller That Really Goes Deep
This roller is not for the faint of heart. This roller has hard foam knobs on it that really get deep into the tissues relieving knots, twists, tension and other problems. It hurts but it's supposed to hurt. This roller does a better job getting deep into tissues than most professional deep tissue masseuses. If you want to really dig deep and relieve some major muscle tension this product will do it for you!

Pleased with Order
I recently discovered from my fitness trainer that my knee pain was due to myofascio; a condition from tense and knotted muscles. At the gym I started using this roller and noticed immediate results. I knew I needed to continue this process at home. I ordered and received my roller within the time promised and it came packaged in good condition. Although it has a mildewy smell I'm assuming it's from the newness of the material. Overall, I'm pleased with the product.

This product is great to mix up with use of a normal round ...
This product is great to mix up with use of a normal round foam roller, especially if you do intense lifting (ie: olympic lifting, crossfit, etc). After a while of using a round foam roller, I noticed that there were some points around my shoulder blades that weren't being adequately hit. The points on this roller really dig in to spots were I experience tightness/knots. I would suggest using this along with your normal round foam roller and not just use this exclusively. If you are new to foam rolling, this is not a good one to start with as you need to build a tolerance.

Must Have for My Post Workout Routine
I was using a TriggerPoint foam roller but felt that the surface was not rigid enough to loosen deeper knots or tight muscles. This foam roller by Fitness Innovations definitely has worked wonderfully with the denser foam and rougher surface. I use it the days after deadlifting, squatting, and basketball, and I have noticed a reduction in muscle tightness and fatigue the following days.
