Welpac Soba Noodles, 9.5 Ounce (Pack of 12)

Great flavor. Mix noodles with vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, green onions and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Great, healthy and quick to prepare, these soba noodles are delicious. We subscribe to receive them monthly and the whole family loves them both cold and hot.

I like the ease of preparation. Other noodle brands have multiple steps. I vary the sauce to highlight the veggies I add to them. The variety of flavors and textures are only limited by my imagination. I would add that I cook them for a shorter time to add texture.

This Welpac Soba ($0.22/oz) is as "horrible and deceitful" as Hakubaku Organic Soba ($0.30/oz), Authentic Japanese Buckwheat Noodles, (no salt added) 9.5-Ounce (Pack of 8). As I wrote a review of Hakubaku Soba, this Welpac Soba is: "This Soba has "ZERO Soba Flavor" and "ZERO Chewiness." Advertisement is a LIE, to which I, who's born and raised in Japan and a huge soba lover, do attest." I boiled Welpac Soba for 1.5 minutes (Instruction says "4 min") to achieve "al dente" (which authentic Japanese soba should be served), but 15 minutes later, Soba was SOFT. It's been a week since I posted a question (What's the ratio of wheat to buckwheat?), the Seller seemingly has ignored to respond at all. My neighborhood Safeway now has JFC Soba on sale for $3.10 (still not close to 70-80% buckwheat, though) per pack ($0.30/oz), which has more soba flavor and chewiness than Welpac and Hakubaku. I will not buy "non-authentic-Japanese-soba of the Welpac or of Hakubaku ever again.

Inexpensive but good quality.

Soba is called skinny carb in Japan. I love the taste and health benefits.
