Perfect!!! This is exactly what I need for my Kindergartner. The cards are a nice size and a decent thickness. The answer can still be seen if a bright light is shinning through it, but that can be avoided if you put it in front of another card. I love that they have both versions of an equation. So for example there is a card for 1-2 and 2-1. Some kids get confused when the numbers are switched. Perfect! I purchased the addition as well from this same company and I will be purchasing the multiplication and division in the future. They are bit pricier than some of the other choices, but the boxes they come in are sturdy and the card stock is pretty heavy duty. Worth it, IMO. Excellent choice!

It makes sense to only offer addition flash cards 0 to 9 (most sets go to 12). But subtraction flash cards really need to be 0 to 18. Trend recognizes this, but you have to purchase the 0 to 18 flash cards in two sets. This set covers 0 to 12. You can do a search: "Trend subtraction flash cards" to find the 13-18 set.What I like about these flash cards is they are plain-vanilla. No frills, no color, one problem with the solution on the other side.Every combination of problem is offered. While learning, I generally "group" my math facts by families....i.e. 9-7 on one card, and then 9-2 on the next. If my son or daughter gets stuck, I give them a hint by showing the next card. It works quite well to jog memory, and to assimilate family facts. Then, after a set of fact families are learned, I mix them up completely.

I bought Trend's addition and subtraction flash card sets. The addition ones are very straightforward - you get every addition combination involving 0-12, from 0+0=0 to 12+12=24. Saying that subtraction cards include "0-12" is a lot less clear, so let me help you understand what's included here. You get a set of subtraction cards that follow these rules:The minuend (first number) ranges from 0-24.The subtrahend (second number) will not exceed 12.The difference (answer) will not exceed 12.Problems that would result in negative answers are not included, so the card set forms a sort of triangle/pyramid where you start with a single card (0-0), go up to a 13-card series (12 minus 0-12), then shrink back down until you are back to a single card (24-12). Here's an example, of course a bunch of stuff is omitted but hopefully you get the idea.0-0=01-0=1,1-1=02-0=2,2-1=1,2-2=0...12-0=12,12-1=11,...,12-11=1,12-12=0...22-10=12,22-11=11,22-12=1023-11=12,23-12=1124-12=12

These are great for practice. I did have to put my hand over the bottom if the lighting was a certain way, otherwise my child could sort of make out the answer through the card. But this doesn't happen if there is no light shining from the backside. Otherwise, they work great! Nice big numbers that are easy to read.

I really like that this set has one math fact per card, instead of a math fact on both the front and back of each card. It makes it much easier for sorting the ones that my son's already learned from the ones he's struggling with. That's the whole reason I bought this set to begin with. I tried cheaper ones and I was frustrated by the difficulties in sorting them. There's one thing I hate about them though. I do not like the size of the cards. At all. They're huge. Neither me nor my son have problems reading smaller print, so I don't understand why the cards need to be made so big. They're little people and their eyesight is not impared. They don't need 2" numbers. That's stuffs for the elderly. I can't properly shuffle these to mix them up because of their size, and I have pretty large hands. No way could my son try shuffling them by himself.

This is a great flash card set. Where many of the sets available for purchase these days only have some of the math facts, this set is complete for subtraction facts 0-12. They are very sturdy and easy to use. I also purchased the Addition facts by the same manufacturer and those were excellent, too.

We purchased these for our 2nd grader who was struggling to get her math facts fast enough. My husband has used them every night and she was the only one in her class to get 100% on their math fact quiz after only 2 weeks of using the cards. They have all the facts a 2nd grader needs so they are perfect.We wondered about using an app instead, but I am so glad we used the cards. They are perfect because she can go through them all but then we can put them in piles and have her go over the ones she got wrong. She also is so much more into being and having help from her Dad than from a tablet.
