Works with 4K Updated 2 years in (one USB port died)
Update #2: two years in...I recently relocated one of my four systems from one side of my desk to the other. During the move, USB port #2 died. Took me a while to troubleshoot, but swapping systems connected on port #3 with #2 and the problem stayed with the KVM port (#2). No light on #2, but display is working for the HDMI #2 connection. With covid I really need all four ports working. If I buy something like this again, I guess it's worth the extended warranty.Update: You may have to use the port labeled USB 2.0 on the back if you want full capabilities from a wireless keyboard and mouse combo if using a Logitech Unifying receiver. Also, I saw where others report the remote doesn't work. Well, I too was under this impression after trying it today. The kind folks at Tesla Smart insert a plastic sheet in the battery compartment of the remote with a little tab sticking out so you think there would be a battery in the compartment and all you have to do is remove the plastic to get it going. BUZZ - WRONG! After trying the remote and it failing, I slid out the battery holder and to my surprise there was no battery to be found. I located and installed a 2025 button cell and the remote works. TESMart contacted me in response to this review and direct communications with them and tell me they plan to update their documentation concerning the battery or lack thereof.Initial Review:I had previously tried another KVM which was initially described to support 4k, but it did not. The Amazon product description was eventually adjusted to reflect this limitation. So I ended up using the KVM for only Keyboard and Mouse and a 4K signal switcher for the video. This worked, but when I saw the Prime deal for this KVM, I decided to give it a try. My systems are a Windows 10 desktop, two Linux hosts, and an OWC dock for my MacBook Pro. Hook up was very easy for me as I all I had to do was move my USB cables from the old KVM and the HDMI cables from the 4K switcher to the new KVM. I should also note that I use a Logitech Unifying USB receiver for my mouse and keyboard. The Windows 10 host was picked immediately on source 1. When I tried to go the Ubuntu 18.04 host on port 2, the monitor went to sleep when no signal was seen from the host. So, I went back to the Windows host and opened a secure shell to the Linux host and rebooted it. I then went to source 2 (Linux Host) and the video signal was detected on the KVM as the system booted. Lesson learned is it may take a reboot to get the video signal to pass through the KVM, or the safer bet, have the systems off when hooking up the KVM. I don't see any degradation of the video signal and the mouse and keyboard behavior is normal. In Windows the hotkey of Scroll Lock + Scroll Lock and number key press to select another source works fine. I haven't tried the keyboard shortcut on the Linux or Mac as I have never seen it work with those operating systems on previous KVM's I have used. So I just use the push button on the front of the KVM to go to another system when using them (or use the remote). So far I am very impressed with KVM for the money.

depends on what you're using it for
My situation is I have 2 "work" and 1 "personal" laptop, so 3 stations. I needed to flip between them easily without having to change wires around. and for that it works well. I am able to cycle through the outputs 1, 2, or 3, and there is a 4th outlet still free. So for that it works, and I was able to plug in a mouse and keyboard and they worked well. Though I was able to free up some wiring by directly connecting a keyboard and mouse to all three computers via bluetooth. Here is where it falls short. In todays work environment, we are on virtual meetings, so I need to also plug in a webcam, and microphone. by using bluetooth devices I was able to free up the only two usb inputs, but they do not support webcam, or the microphone. When I contacted customer support it was a laughable response. They literally told me to connect those directly into the computer, which I already had that set up for everything with a USB splitter. So if I am doing that, what good is the KVM Switch. I will likely return this one, for the ridiculous response from customer service, and it doesn't meet my needs. I did ask if there were any fixes like any specific models that were compatible,, but I just got that response. The packaging does only come with 2 wires for setup. I had to purchase the 3rd on my own. So I am not going to say this thing is junk, for the limited scope of its purpose, it it works, but to not recognize a USB webcam, and Microphone, and the poor customer service i had to knock off points.

KVM is working good so far
The hdmi KVM is working well. I purchased the hdmi kvm switch on august of 2018. It is still working til this day april 2019 with little to no problems. The first week I would turn the switch on and off everyday for approximately 2 weeks and the on and off switch still feels solid and not flimsy til this day. I have a logitech k200 keyboard connected to the keyboard connection and a old logitech mouse connected to the mouse port. The keyboard and mouse is working fine. I have an old mac mini(really old) and a pc connected to the kvm switch. The Mac mini is working fine with the logitech keyboard and mouse. I also have an old belkin usb 2.0 hub connected to the usb port with a printer, a usb external hard drive and a old psp speaker for sound connected to it. They all work fine. The switch is connected to the hdmi port and outputted to a 1080p monitor at 1080p resolution. It looks bright and clear. The keyboard and mouse shortcut keys (pressing scroll lock, scroll lock twice and the corresponding number slot the pc is connected to) do not work unless the keyboard is connected to the keyboard port (there is a picture of a keyboard next to the usb connection)The problems I did encounter was minimal. I had no sound at one point in the beginning and I seemed to have resolved that problem by turning off the kvm switch and detaching all cables and reattaching them. I turned the switch on and it seems to have resolved that problem. There were some rare times in the beginning where I tried to switch to another computer and there would not be a display. I switched the kvm switch off and reattached the cables and that seems to have resolved that problem. That problem probably happened maybe one or two times. I haven't encountered that problem again. One great thing to mention is that it doesn't get hot. I had an old kvm switch that did get hot or warm to the touch if left on too long. I have had this hdmi kvm switch on for 24 hours. I have never switched it off since the beginning of owning this product. The switch is cool to the touch. The next thing to look out for is the reliability of the kvm switch. Only time will tell.

Corsair Keyboard +/-
My Corsair Strafe RGB Keyboard IS functional in the 3rd USB (Std USB 2.0 port) but NOT the keyboard port. When attempting to run in the keyboard port the backlights on the keyboard are functional but no keystrokes are registered. This means that the Hot keys are NOT operational either, probably because those are detected in the keyboard port only. So you must use: 1) either the button on the front; or 2) the remote; OR 3) hook up a second keyboard just to do switching (didn't test this -- yet).PROs* pleased with overall performance using 1920x1080 monitors -- it works* good price/performance value* sleek profile (thin)* power button on front is convenient and adorable (smallest toggle switch I've seen) although not used much* separate sets of LED indicators for active "Selection" (displayed) and "Online" (hooked up/powerd on -- usb port)CONs* Corsair Keyboard cannot utilize HOT keys* Remote has lots of keys but does not have any instructions and the remote key labels are basic(press "1/A" to go straight to port 1, etc)* Remote comes with a plastic insert implying there is a battery disabled by the insert (remove to enable). The plastic insert pulls out easily but upon investigation about why the remote doesn't do anything. There is no battery. Provide your own CR2032 button battery and off you go. Why the "unlabelled" plastic insert ?* Only 2 cables included buy 2 more if you need them from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075FRFXNX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Nice alternative for KVM
This is a nice quality KVM that offers a number of convenient features. Construction, materials and finishing seems very high quality, you won't be disappointed with that aspect I am sure. On the back is 4 pairs of HDMI/ USB type B connectors for attaching your computers to be switched (two cables included), another to connect to your monitor and two shared USB ports for keyboard, mouse, device or hub. Also, there is a 3.5mm audio connection socket which is a nice feature: any audio signal that is sent via HDMI connection is also routed to this connector so that you can send the signal to speakers or audio input for a receiver. Supports up to 4K/60p switching. The only issue that I found (disappointingly!) is that my 2012 Mac Mini doesn't play well with this device. When selected, the mouse cursor moves but doesn't display in the correct location so you can't activate anything with the mouse, and all mouse clicks and keyboard entries are ignored. I can't say whether this would still be an issue with a 2018 Apple product like an updated Mac Mini.I would have given 5 stars except for these Mac issues - PC and Linux work without issue. Also, I would love to see a 6 or 8 Port version of this device. The maker does make another KVM with support for 8 ports, but it does not appear to support 4K/60p video connections.
