Have to format and they are only 3,7 GB not 8 GB as advertised
I like the old Centon 8 GB sticks with the grey sticks they sold last year, these new ones just don't work at all and look totally different and have a black casing, I never had to format the old design before either till now for what I use them for. If they had a zero star I would have listed that instead, They just don't work. I use them for a mp3 player for my work.I needed 8 GB and was sent these 4 GB instead, its actually only 3.7 GBI', kind of mad now because this has held up and set me back a lot for the project I'm working on. It could be my end with computer problems but I have no trouble with the old 8 GB design though >>>???? What everI just don't like this new design either they need to either go back and make those again or order those to sell if they are still manufactured. This whole debacle has really held up my work. I don't mind changes - but it has to at least work

Good capacity and price, slow performance
These sticks hold a lot of data and are holding up well. They are kind of slow though. If you are not in a big hurry or can send files to them in the background and not worry about thespeed then they are a good deal. My computer writes to these in bursts, pause, burst, pause, and twocomputers W-10 OS have behaved the same, not sure why they pause. I put movies on them and it cantake up to an hour to fill one up!

Corrupt data, slow, flimsy, and possibly fake
I owned an original Centon DataStick Pro and have been very happy with it for past 3 years. I ordered these thinking they'd be the same, but they turned to have write speed 3x as slow (5MB/s vs 15MB/s), corrupt every other file, and actually physically fall apart. My previous stick looks like the listed photo of the product, the ones that got delivered do not. The edges of the original product are smoother (more round, less sharp) and the color is lighter than the ones that got delivered. Are these fakes maybe?lsusb on Linux reports this:ID 13fe:4200 Kingston Technology Company Inc.On the original product, it reported:ID 058f:6387 Alcor Micro Corp. Flash DriveEither these are fakes, or Centon has changed contractor and lowered its standards to the point of useless.

Poor Quality
I consider USB drives a commodity item but these drives have proven that there are differences in quality. Out of a 10 pack, I could not find a single drive that would not corrupt video files copied to it. I noticed artifacts in both video and sound in various portions of a 4.2 GB video file. Checking the original file, the artifacts were not there. Copied the same file to a Sandisk USB drive and there were no issues at all. Clearly, the problem is in these drives, and not just one drive, but all 10. I've never seen anything quite like this with USB drives. Due to the 4GB limitation on FAT32 (default format), I reformatted them to NTFS. Not certain whether people see an issue with these using FAT32 but certainly with NTFS, there are issues. Wasted quite a bit of time with them and I'm past the date to return to amazon. I would recommend avoiding this brand.

3/10 literally broke (VIDEO)
The media could not be loaded. Update 1/20/2015.I do not recommend these at all anymore. I didn't have problems with my first 10 I got, but the 2nd 10? 3 of the 10 flat out tore open when I tried to take the caps off. The glue they use straight up didn't work. See the video to know if this is something you're ok with (hint, you won't be).PREVIOUS REVIEW:I use these USB's to put video file on for clients. This is my 3rd box of these because I've been quite happy with them. I see some reviewers complaining of slow transfer speeds, these are USB 2.0, but honestly, I just transferred a 5GB file (5,000MB) in about 4 minutes, which is a fast 20MB/sec so I don't experience these slow speeds. I'm also using a brand new iMac (2014). I've never had one break, but to be honest, I am not re-using these frequently, they are being used for storing mailing large video files.

Simply the best!
I was looking to purchase a bulk amount of flash drives to install different Linux distributions. I already had a couple of those "well known, brand name" ones, so I thought that would just be the easiest route to go. After trying a couple I bought from another website, I found the particular type to be discontinued with no further support from their "enterprise" dept. However, my searches on Amazon always brought these up, so with slight nervousness, I made the purchase for this 10 pack.W O W !Centon has grabbed my attention wholeheartedly. These flash drives are speedy, work in every operating system flawlessly, and have no issue creating live USB CDs. I use a multitude of computers, and it's literally plug and play. What I love also is the packaging of this bulk pack. The drives are stored in easy-to-open antistatic bags, and come with a Styrofoam tray to house them in. All for $5 a unit! Where else would you get something like this?! Nowhere! I am now looking into the other products the co. offers, and I'm quite sure I will be buying those as well. Thanks for making me a convert, Centon! You rock!!!

Looks good at first, but low quality quickly sets you back.
I ordered these flash drives as a way to save money on daily usage. I expected to receive durable flash drives, but 4/10 were DOA. After trying to get the remaining to suffice, I found that they would often work for about a week or for several days, but then fail. Ultimately, I ended up with 10 worthless flash drives. If you're considering buying these, save your time and go for a better product. You will have to pay a bit more, but it's worth it not to lose your data and have an actually functional product. Two key points:1. If you're considering buying these for bulk storage of images/music/videos etc, don't buy because you could (very likely) end up losing your data.2. I wanted to use a couple of these as bootable drives. I was able to create them, but after one use or so, they would either become excessively slow or quit working altogether. Definitely not a good drive to try to install anything to.All in all, save the time/effort and money and go for a higher quality drive.

Unicornios en paquetes de 10, prácticamente imposibles de encontrar, si manejas equipo que sólo admite cierta capacidad de almacenamiento te las recomiendo mucho.

Good quality USB drives, good price.
Had some problems with file transfer using bulk inexpensive USB flash drives. Having had a couple of Centron Pro drives in the past, I was confident that these would work well.
