Very nice elevated toilet for elderly and get to use own seat!
Read some negative reviews on here and was afraid to purchase but it looks, fits and functions perfectly. Can raise to clean under it and get to use own toilet seat making this the best option for higher seats needed for elderly or those having surgeries that cannot get up off lower seats. Makes pooping much easier for my older mom!

Works
We purchased this toilet riser primarily because it raises and lowers and you can still clean your stool and riser fairly easily. When you raise this riser --- it stays put and does not fall. I am happy with this purchase. My only negative is, I wish it were a true white-- this is more of an off-white. Other than that it is great. I had no problems with installation. Just be sure and measure to get the proper size.

Sturdy and safe!
I had bought a different riser seat after hip surgery at CVS that just sits on the original toilet seat and has the screw handle (piece of crap and waste of $). It kept moving and leaking. I didn’t feel safe using it and was creating fungus along the base of the toilet from the leaking.I bought this riser as a replacement and it SO much better!!! It comes with HUGE screws and sits under your regular toilet seat. It screws on, so it doesn’t shift and move like the one with the turn handle that I felt like I was going to fall on. It’s sturdy and safe! It doesn’t leek and it also doesn’t look as bad as the other one that was huge.In addition, the other one had to be totally removed to clean. This one has hinges that allow you to simply flip it up to clean...no removal necessary! The hinges are also good for guys to use (guys have to have good aim with the other one).I don’t know how easy it was to install because my maintenance guy did it. I was there though, and it didn’t take him long...just two foot longish screws to put in.

Love it
I bought a seat similar from a medical store. It was very expensive and hard to keep clean. You had to put this one on top of the existing toilet seat therefore not being able to put the toilet cover down. This is excellent. Easy to use, easy to install, and easy to clean seat and the toilet, and you can put the toilet seat down. Definitely recommend this. Great price also.

Best Toilet Riser So Far
After two other riser failures, I was finally able to get one that worked. It is about 1/2" shorter than the actual toilet but fits well over it and the bolts were easy to secure with my toilet seat attached. The only thing I can think I would really like is one in a 4" size with a dip in front to be easier on cleaning the front individual person's stuff. This does work okay however and it does not scoot around or pull left or right. I am a 5'9" female and in my old age (79) have gained weight after quitting smoking, drinking and retiring. Weighing around 225 lbs. Have quit everything else but like to eat. (LOL). I thought about getting a new toilet seat but decided against it. I am going to purchase a cover for the lid. I would like to mention that the small tabs covering the screws do not fully close, so I have put some liquid nails on the ends to make them stay down. Sure hope I don't have to tighten the screws. The screws were very long and would really cover a larger lid cover. They did tighten down easily but it was an ordeal to get down there for me. Thought I would have to call 911 to get someone to get me up. LOL All in all I got it down in about 20 minutes which includes taking off the lid and installing this set up. I would highly recommend this as I think it is a godsend since the toilet itself was so low, can't understand why they would make such a low toilet in the first place.

Difficult to keep clean
I have Muscular Dystrophy and it has been increasingly difficult to rise from a seated position. I purchased side rails from Amazon and they worked great,.....for a while. But as the disability became worse, I needed more assistance, so I purchased and installed the Toilevator from Amazon, and it was great,....for a while. When I needed more assistance, the only thing left remaining was this seat riser. It gave me the required amount of 'rise', but along with the Toilevator, I had to fabricate a foot rest in front of the commode; otherwise, my feet dangled. Now, for the downside. I contracted a case of stomach flu about 2 weeks ago, and this riser is impossible to keep clean, hence only 3 stars. If you are an older person, who has bowel problems, or are prone to stomach/bowel problems, it is a continuing effort to keep this clean. The seat position has you so high above the water, that any small drop, and especially, diarrhea, will be splattered all over the sides, underside, bottom of the seat, and hinge area. You have to spray and clean every surface and every crack after every use. It has kept my wife and me busy for the past 2 weeks. If I had an alternative to this riser, I would remove it.

I had a knee replacement and I am sure glad I bought it. It saved me a lot of pain 5 times a day in trying to sit! Easy to install and strong. No slipping
