Read the update Below
There are some missing features from this system and disadvantages. They come as follow:• Missing Geofencing feature (Allows you to only receive notifications when you leave your house).• Motion Zones (Doesn't function) VERY IMPORTANT feature.• AI people feature treats cats and dogs as a person.• Camera mounts have cheap plastic parts and hanger latches make the camera loose.• You can’t get to choose recording zones. You can however choose notifications zone (would give an extra star if this was functional)• When receiving a person motion notification, it will take some time in order for you to view the recording from the PlayBack (This could be due to my internet speed).Other than that I would give 5 start to the quality of the cameras themselves and to the clear picture. At least most of those can be corrected with a software update which makes me a bit happier hoping to see app and features improvements the next time there’s an update.**********Update:After less than a week of installing, notifications stopped working. I had to restart the receiver to fix the notifications. However after restarting it. It worked but the receiver started making loud peep noise all night. I had to reset the entire system and set it up again to fix the issue. Now guess what! It’s been another week and the issue is happening again!!

Decent upgrade from previous Reolink security camera system for AI Person/Vehicle Detection
I purchase Reolink 8CH security camera system with 5MP camera about a year ago. But my 1 year old Reolink NVR doesn't support the newer cameras with Person/Vehicle Detection and can't be updated with newer firmware to support it. It requires newer hardware. My older Reolink system: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016UCNP3A/Newer 8CH Reolink NVR required for Person/Vehicle Detection support---------------------------------------------------------------------------------It sucks that I had to upgrade my 1 year old Reolink NVR in order to support the newer cameras with Person/Vehicle Detection, but it's not that big of a deal. Externally, there isn't much of a difference between the new NVR and older NVR. The newer NVR added an on/off switch which was missing from the older version. The major changes is the UI and faster hardware. I like the newer and more modern UI. Seems more intuitive and faster responsive compared to the old Reolink NVR.I don't know why you needed faster hardware because I thought all the AI Person/Vehicle Detection would be done on the camera and would just tag the video for the NVR. But the benefit is faster hardware is being able to handle not just the newer Reolink cameras, but handles 4K and higher resolution cameras. With the older Reolink NVR, I have problems playing back 4K recordings on my iPad or Android phone. Often it would time out or refuse the play in high quality settings. On the newer Reolink NVR, I have no problems with it timing out, but there are other issues with playback.Video playback------------------Video playback is choppy and not smooth, whether it's 4K video or 5MP video. Not sure why the newer Reolink NVR with faster hardware can't play back video smoothly. It stutters, it's choppy. And somethings to audio cuts off and there is no audio. Doesn't matter if the video is being played back on the NVR or on my iPad/Smartphone. Reolink needs to fix this.Only positive thing is that 4k video doesn't time out anymore. And now there is faster than 1X playback. On the older Reolink NVR, I only get 1/4 speed, 1/2 speed, and 1X speed. With the newer Reolink NVR, I have additional 2X, 4X, 8X, and 16X speeds which is great.Which comes to the next part about AI Person/Vehicle Detection.Person/Vehicle Detection------------------------------With the older Reolink NVR and cameras with no Person/Vehicle Detection, reviewing the recordings can be time consumption searching for the video clips which only had a person in it. With Person/Vehicle Detection, it makes life much easier to filter out just the video clips containing person, vehicle, and/or any motion. If I just want to view video clips with person only, I would select only "person" tag and it will only show clips with "person" detected.I would say person detection is about 90% accurate during the day. However at night, person detection accuracy goes down to probably around 40%. Similar for vehicle detection.Which comes to the next part about night vision and low light qualityNight Vision & Low Light------------------------------The night vision on the cameras that came with this system is a slight improvement over the older Reolink cameras without AI detection. With Night Vision and IR lights on, illumination is pretty even and not much hot spotting. Static, non-moving objects are pretty clear at night. Probably because the shutter is kept opened longer to allow more light? The issue is that moving objects are kinda blurry and car headlights have a halo or glow to it.With night vision and IR lights turned off and with very little light, I use to get pitch black with the older Reolink cameras. The cameras that came with this system, I can see more but with a strange green overlay. Still not good enough to leave night vision/IR lights off at night. Not as good with low light compared to my Eufy 2k indoor camera or Wyze 3 camera. Wyze 3 low light quality is so good, I turned off night vision mode and just record in color.Upgrade to latest firmware--------------------------------Make sure you upgrade the NVR and cameras with the latest firmware. I notice there is a bug that case the camera to improperly detect "vehicle" and "any motion". I think they had those 2 tags swapped and was fixed with the latest firmware.

Best cameras on the market
I install Reolink cameras all the time and they are the best product for the money. I install an average of 6 systems a month and I've never had a call back with issues with these systems. You get what you pay for, they aren't the cheapest but they are worth the little extra money.

Failed from the start
First off NO Manual. Try going online to find one for my specific model is like calling the government for help. Mouse fails intermittently, can’t get any sound with video and the system asks for my password every two minutes! Called reolink support and the man who assisted me, whose English was obviously his second language, said my system was compromised. That’s funny because it was never connected to the internet. When I told him this he put me on hold. When he returned he said tech support could help me but there would be a fee. My god, the system only had one camera hooked up and it failed out of the box and they want to charge me a fee! I’m in the process of returning it. By the way I’m typing this with my middle fingers reolink. Look elsewhere maybe Loren.

Best value for the money
I absolutely love this system. Very simple to install and the app is great. I highly recommend. The only downfall I can see so far is the camera needs a way to lock into the mounting bracket. The camera twist onto the bracket but there is nothing to keep it there. I put a zip tie on it to ensure it won't move.

Great system
Great price, great video, easy set up (running cables in the attic can be challenging but the Reolink NVR and app are extremely user friendly).Keep in my mind when placing cameras that aim towards windows and flat, light colored surfaces will reflect the infrared illuminators and degrade night vision.

Quality video, low price.
Very crisp video, motion detection is improved over previous models. All in all it's a nice system for a good price.

Very impressed with the quality of the system and its applications
The cameras were easy to install, and the mobile/PC applications are easy to use and setup. Highly recommend, as someone who previous used a much more expensive system that didn't have these mobile/PC applications -- which I feel are what become most important after setup.
