I fly a Welsh flag in my garden much to the annoyance of my English neighbours especially on match days (rugby) LOL. Like all flags they tangle , this little device works ninety percent of the time even in strong wind. The clips that come fitted with the device rust quite quickly and are not very strong . This is the second one I have purchased so I now know all of the bad points. The other problem is the sun destroys the plastic making it very brittle and prone to snapping. On the good side my previous one lasted just over a year before breaking , and was repaired using the melting in not water plastic repair stuff you can get on this site. The price is good just over five pounds a year is not an expensive outlay. It's very easy to fit as long as the circumference of your flag pole isn't larger than the device a slightly smaller circumfrance can be used as in my case I just wrapped some gaffa tape to make up the difference. I also used plastic garden ties to replace the clips that came with it. I found making using the ties enables you to have the flag sit a little longer distance from the device and pole which helps with keeping the flag from tangling. It's a great device but could be better the materials used to manufacture this device could be more robust considering it's being used in all elements. However that is reflected in the price. It works really well even with a heavier duty flag . So a good buy to prevent flags tangling in the wind.

Now these were nice and cheap and delivery was fast but they are useless in my opinion, they should and do work to an extent, what happens is there is a location pin that keeps the main body attached to the pole and then you have the hook or pin that attaches to the flag but because the location pin sticks out to far and the hook attached to the flag gets caught and the flag just ends up wrapping around the pole, and the main reason for buying these was to stop my flag from wrapping around the pole and these just seem to make it worse, if you want you could take out the location pin and just drill a hole and put in a screw that wouldn't stick out but I wasn't willing to drill holes in my pole if that didn't work either, these kight have been cheap but they're a waste of money.

I bought these to stop my flag getting tangled up in the wind. However I did find that the flag did still manage to get wrapped around the pole using these. However it did also manage to unwrap itself so it wasn't too bad. My pole is mounted at a 45o angle from a bracket on the house so I think that is why it still managed to wrap itself up as the flag would blow up over the pole. It is certainly better than not having them though

Well made out of hard plastic these are easy to use with most flags that have eyelets in the corners. The internal diameter is 25mm, so if the pole you're using for your flag is less than that, you'll need to build up a filler on the pole so the turn screw will bite and hold this in place, I used a piece of split hose pipe to wrap round my pole and glued it in place, before securing this to it, it works great.

Liked the easiness of putting together, as for how long they last .Really not to sure maybe a year if heavy winds. The clips are rather feeble for their intended use. They do tend to tangle, however they always untangle after awhile. Good value for money, however next time will be brass .
