Description

Wheel thrown decorative soda fired cookie jar. Jar is made from stoneware clay and high fired to cone 10 in soda kiln. The jar is covered with dry green glaze before being fired to cone 10 (2350ºF) in the soda kiln. The dry glaze give the jar an almost sand paper texture. Also because soda firing involves adding the soda into the kiln only after temperature of 2000ºF is reached the application is not precise and the kiln tends to leave unique marks on the pieces which might be perceived as faults. The jar is glazed in food safe glazes on the inside and is microwave and dishwasher safe. The jar is 7.75" tall and 5.25" in diameter
