This is a traditionally hand beaded African necklace, but it can also be worn as a striking African headpiece. This tribal seed bead rope necklace is used in ceremonies in the Zulu tribe of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa still to this day. Historically the seeds were woven around rope made from natural fibers, but today we use repurposed thick ropes, which allows them to be sturdier for our on-the-go lifestyle. Seed beads are carefully sewn around the rope into traditional alternating colors. Length (tip to tip): ~38" The necklace simply ties together and hangs mid- to low- chest. Because each piece is handmade, we can't promise that the minor colors are exactly as shown in the photos. Yellow will remain prominent. Handmade with Love by the Zulu Tribe of South Africa ♡
