Q: I assume it has some kind of inner supporting board under the fabric? what is the inner part made of exactly? From reviews sounds like cardboard?

The inner support board of the Backseat Bridge is made of wood fiberboard.

Q: What is the surface made of and will it support a 60-75 lb. dog?

The covering is a firm polyester - easy to wipe clean. Our pup is only 55# but will be approx 70# but expect it to handle that since its weight limit is 100#. We are very happy and have used it constantly. My son bought one too after seeing ours. His dog is about 60#. We leveled out the dip in the back seat with blankets then covered the whole area with a firm rug so it's one level surface.

Q: Is it possible not to put up the center part (the piece with the cup holder) as it will block the AC blowing to the center back?

I just checked it. The straps that hold it in place can be slipped out allowing you to fold the piece down or under. I've never done it because my dog slips her head through the sides of that panel to get to AC. But your idea is better... It will work as suggested allowing that area to remain open. (I never did it because she, the dog, has a tendency to back seat drive then by attempting to join us in front seat!).

Q: can this be used for only one side of the backseat while having a chid use the other side of the backseat?

One side of the Backseat Bridge can be folded over to accommodate a passenger.
