Great for Newbies and Pros!
I've performed Product Marketing for enterprise products for many years in Silicon Valley. I'd recommend this book to anyone that is new to Product Marketing and those contemplating a career in the same. It's not just that Mr. Sekaran succinctly outlines and explains the essentials of the role - he does it in an interesting and entertaining manner. But is this book just for beginners? I think not! Having been a Marketing Director and taught Marketing to undergraduate and graduate students, the book is useful to me to ensure that nothing "slips through the crack" with regard to go-to-market plans. Sekaran misses nothing that's essential, so the book serves as a great checklist in creating marketing plans and dissecting marketing results. The only bad things about the book is that I did not have this in my early marketing career. It would have been much easier to outline and deliver complete go-to-market programs - ensuring that everything that's important has been incorporated into plans.

Provided a great amount of details while keeping things simple
Although the title of the book says simplified, it did not skip any details. The book describes the thought process from both (customer and the project manager) sides. From an outsider's perspective, it is extremely easy to understand the approach and thought process of launching a product and being a product marketing manager. I have discussed this book with my product marketing manager colleagues, and their perspective and ideology aligns with the author.Overall, if you want a career in product marketing and if you are interested in launch a product, I would suggest you should start by reading this book first. Again, although this book explains product marketing in a "simplified" way, it does not lack any details. If you are already a product marketing manager and has already launched multiple products, I would still suggest reading this book because it might just show you something you didn't know already.

Noteworthy Read for those Interested
I had been looking for a book that would sum up product marketing for myself but couldn't really find one that fit my needs, until this one. "Product Marketing, Simplified" is an excellent read that will sum up in layman's terms the role of product marketing and it's requisites. Great advice, stories, tips, facts, and very easy to follow along. I had only just started my interest in product marketing, but this book is exactly what I needed to continue carrying the momentum of learning the role.

Simplified . . . and insightful
Definitely a great primer for anyone interested in developing products that customers actually want. This book contains some insights that took me over decades to learn from first-hand experience. I even learned a couple of things. Chapter 9 on enabling sales and driving demand is one best overviews on the subject.

Good content, bad hardware quality
The quality of the content might be good, but the quality of the book itself is so bad. Should be improved! Pages say goodbye after opening the book for the second time...
