Disappointed
Really wanted to like this game. Read a few great reviews. Played it a few times, the rules as written don’t work. If the first player rolls poorly the game is often over by the second or third turn. An easy fix is to change the order of set up. Instead of placing the lantern and then hiding the shadowlings, so strategic players put the shadowlings as far from the lantern as possible creating a very easy win condition for the shadowlings. The shadowlings should be hidden and then the lantern chooses where to start, which would encourage spreading the shadowlings apart which would make vastly improved game play.

Really fun
We all have a blast playing this. My 9 year old loves to play even though he is not a fan of the dark. Only issue was battery in lantern was almost dead when we got the game so the first time we played it was crappy as there was very little light from the lantern to cast the shadows. Figured since it was all new it was good to go but decided to replace the batteries and was a world of difference.

Cute and fun for kids and adults who are kids at heart.
Got this game for my sister-in-law for her birthday after watching how to play on Geeks And Sundry. There we were, a bunch of adults sitting in the dark playing a board game. It was actually pretty entertaining. The glow in the dark dice did not hold its glow for very long but that was ok because you could still see it by the light of the little lantern. The little shadowlings are cute. It's not a game I can see us playing all the time, but it was definitely good enough that we would play it a few times a year I am sure.

Me encanta y a mis amigos y familiares.
