The binding and cover are thick and feel solid I'm not worried about it bending anytime soon. The paper thickness is great for writing but also soo soft, I know sounds weird but you'll have to buy one to understand.I have yet to use marker.... I'm more of a pencil light highlight kind of girl. But will update if I notice anything

Beautiful looking bible and size was great, however I found pages too thin for notes so I ended up returning it.
