Red eye gator head
Keeps the fish from being eaten by predatory birds. Scares the hell out of the little dog too. Realistic looking, but the eyes were not REFLECTIVE as stated in the listing, they are only painted red.

No secure point
Nice detail, but did not come with anyway to secure it down like stated. Had to drill and attach an eye bolt. This may cause issues in future with leaking.

They claim these gator heads are a decoy for ducks. They are absolutely not!!! the ducks flew in and hung out by the gator heads like they were besties. no fear.

No place to secure it like stated....now I have to drill into it. Kinda frustrated

Great decoy if you're looking to deter herons
Great decoy. No more herons using my koi pond as their own private sushi bar. Have paired it with an owl and a plastic heron. Together they work great and we get a lot of comments and jokes about the alligator. All in all, a very worthwhile purchase if you want to save lives (fish lives that is...)

Realistic
It looks very realistic and has been keeping the blue heron away. Had to reinforce the area that attaches the mooring line with some epoxy glue.

These floating alligator decoy heads do a great job.
I love the way these look in the pond. Since I have put these alligator decoy heads in the pond I have not seen any Blue Herron eating my fish. So these floating alligator decoy heads must be doing their jobs well.
