Essa edição é uma gracinha! Diagramação ótima, papel amarelinho e confortável pra leitura e a capa dura com baixo relevo de Grim + dust jacket formam o combo perfeito. A história é ótima para crianças/pré adolescentes entre 9 e 13 anos, para adultos faz o efeito de terrorzinho nostálgico tipo Halloweentown. Amo as histórias e escrita da Victoria Schwab, tomara que alguma editora brasileira resolva publicar essa série com tradução!

El libro llegó en excelentes condiciones y antes de lo esperado.Está en un inglés entre básico e intermedio, por lo que podría ser ideal para aquellos que deseen practicar su nivel de comprensión lectora y ampliar su aprendizaje de vocabulario.La historia en sí habla sobre fantasmas, Edimburgo (Escocia) y otros aspectos que es mejor descubrir por cuenta propia. Es el primero de una bilogia (el segundo es Tunnel of Bones).

(Also reviewed on For The Love of Fictional Worlds)This is my first middle grade book from Victoria Schwab and I just added another reason why I have started to adore this wonderful author and her talent for sucking me right into her books.  City of Ghosts is the introduction to Cassidy Blake – a young girl, just like countless others with one little exception – after she died and came back to life, she can now see ghosts as well as crossover to the other side of the “Veil” – the one where the ghosts reside. She also became best friends with the ghost, Jacob, who saved her.  With her parents agreeing to host a TV show about haunted cities in her holidays – and the first stop is Edinburgh – not only is the city host to a brilliant history; it is also the history that makes it the residence to ghosts everywhere.  It is here, Cass meets Lara, another girl who can see ghosts; when she previously believed that she was the only one who could see and talk to ghosts. It is Lara who makes her understand why she has her powers; and it is in Edinburgh when she realizes that not all ghosts are safe like her best friend; that some can be very dangerous to her health.  City of Ghosts is fun, fast paced adventure with just the right amount creepy thrown in to keep your heart racing and hooked in right till the end. There are loose threads in the plot; that I really am hoping means that there will be a second book; because I am so frikkin keen to see how Cass and Jacob evolve into the awesome ghost fighters they are starting out to be!

Esta historia de fantasmas es una de las mejores que he leído. Aunque este es un libro para niños, me encantó que la trama fuera un poco aterradora y tuviera algunos detalles bastante espeluznantes. Por otro lado, los personajes y el escenario estaban bien construidos y no tuve problemas para imaginarlos. Para mí, todas las relaciones de Cass parecían reflejar relaciones reales, y me gustó particularmente la ironía con respecto a las habilidades de Cass y la línea de trabajo de sus padres. Supongo que la única queja que tengo con este libro es que no dice los antecedentes de Jacob, que espero el próximo libro rectifique. De todos modos, recomiendo mucho este libro ya que creo que este es el tipo de historia que puedes disfrutar a cualquier edad.

A história é bem tranquila de ler, muito boa no que se propõe. Porém, a edição capa comum é muito inferior a qualquer livro que eu tenha, principalmente quanto a qualidade da encadernação. Apesar de ter uma boa diagramação, parece que a capa tem uma lombada menor do que deveria ser, além do material da capa ser horrível! Basta abrir a primeira página para ver que a junção dos cadernos de páginas é muito mal feita. Os livros mais simples de editoras nacionais, como a editora principis, superam em muito esse edição, além de serem mais baratos.
