I was disappointed when I received the clock and the instructions were not in English. The clock required three AA batteries Since I could not read the instructions. It left me no choice but to call Amazon helpline they had no instructions for the dud Vivid large cockroach Clock. While the helpline was looking for instructions for other cloks to see if they could help me get my clock to start working properly,I was actually figuring out how to get the clock to work myself. When I bought the clock The sales ad did inform me the chime has an automatic shut off but did not say there was a light sensor that turned on and off the chimes. When the light from the singles dark and the light is shut off in the room the chime will shut off. But do not leave the light on in the room on for a extended time or the clock will chime and it is loud.. If you have aneighbor who likes to sleep late in the morning make sure your room is dark. There is no volume control for the chime. With all that being said, I do enjoy my clock. But it would be nice if the instructions were in English and the helpline had instructions for this clock.

This is a pretty good clock overall. The craftsmanship is good. Be aware it is resin and quite heavy so you’ll need to hang it on a Molly screw. The details are quite cute. The one thing I’d change is that there are no doors in front of the bird. The sound is recorded so it sounds a bit strange but the price is good and it keeps time well. I am happy with my choice and it was a reasonable price. It’s also quite large so it doesn’t get “lost” on a large wall.

I bought the clock for my kitchen and it also provides some entertainment and time teaching to my toddlers with it’s hourly cuckoo call and exquisite animal character adornments. This is a beautiful and well made clock with attention to detail. The clock is moulded out of resin and not carved out of wood like the more expensive clocks but looks quite elegant. The only regret is that the price is too high and that the cuckoo call is recorded instead of being like a musical chime.

PROS: This clock fit perfectly with my living room style and felt sturdy and quality. I absolutely love the style, and I think it looks even better in person.CONS:The cuckoo Bird and the pendulum are both made out of extremely cheap plastic. The clock consistently runs 10-15 minutes fast despite resetting it multiple times.
