We bought this piece so my son could create a figure 8 with his extra train tracks. It has never functioned correctly. 75% of the time the train goes over it, it derails the engine and second car. It works better when the speed of the train is turned down some, but it still derails on occasion. You can also hear the train "struggle" to cross over the "X" part of the tracks. We have never had issues with Bachmann tracks before this piece, so I'm not sure why it is different. It seems like the tracks aren't aligned properly.

I like Bachmann products in general I bought my spouse two trains bunch of track and other accessories this is a cross over which enable two different trains to cross each other saved a lot of room in my dining room too.My wife loves trains. These are very easy to work with and hook up.

I bought this to turn my ho scale track & my 6yr old son's into a fig8. My track & his together we made a fig8 with extended loops on each side. Not sure who liked it more. 40 YR old ad or 6 yr old son. Not 100% sure but think mama liked it best when we picked it up out of her living room floor. This peice may not get used alot but well enjoyed when it does. Trains are at the moment around Christmas Tree. of course.

Some of the locomotives like it, some don’t. Cars like to derail on it if the trucks aren’t perfectly tuned.
