Fun times
Needed something todo in covid and pant by numbers became a hobby. This one is cute, easy, and not to big to get bored. Perfect!

Turned out great, just take your time!
Alan’s wife enjoyed this very much! Having done a few paint by numbers, she knew what she was getting into. Biggest drawback was that it came folded and not rolled. Would not say it is for beginners, but very much enjoyed the process.

Looks terrible!
While I understand paint by numbers do not provide every single color, this one just looks so off and really doesn't hold up as a painting. Some of the colors were also very loose and liquid-ey compared to others. Very inconsistent overall.

Notes from a Paint by number beginner
I bought a paint by number kit because I wanted something to do in the evening other than scroll through my phone. I have had some art classes through out my life and know a bit about working with paints but I am not good at it nor do I do it on a regular basis. Here are my thoughts:- The guide/example picture that comes with the kit is literally 2"x2"... it is SO TINY that you cannot see the details of the art hardly at all - I had to grab my glasses. First tip: I hacked this by doing a screen shot on my phone of the image on the Amazon listing and taking a picture of the little example picture with my phone. I can zoom into both nicely and see the detail much better.- However after taking these pictures, I have now noticed there are SIGNIFICANT differences between the two pictures. One shows how the exact lines and colors have been followed and the other shows a color-blended interpretation of the image. Second tip: Decide before you start if you are going to blend the colors together or stick to the colors and lines exactly. I am blending mine but I think they would look good either way.- The paint that comes with the kit dries very fast and gets dried out in the pots really fast. Tip for this: make sure you close each little pot tightly after you are done with a section, when you walk away for a minute, or when you are done. You can mix a tiny bit of water in it to get it going, but as long as this is taking, I'm going to have to buy some more paint.- Also some of the paint doesn't seem to cover the numbers printed on the canvas very well. My tip for this is to paint over it once and let it dry (this won't take long) and then go over it again. Third time's the charm...- The brushes that come with the kit are fine to use but don't let your kid borrow them - I can't get the brush back into a good point anymore and can't use it for details. Oh well.
