Jinhao Black Snake Fountain Pen Fine Nib with Skull Head Solid Metal

I got this pen quite a few months back and I use it quite frequently at work.Definitely gets a lot of attention and compliments. It comes with an easy to use reservoir so you can fill it up if you don't have the cartridges for it. I will tell you that filling up this pen can get a bit messy and you'll have to wipe it down when you're done, but it's still a very easy process. If you would rather use the cartridges, you just pull the reservoir out and put a cartridge in its place and you're ready to start writing. It doesn't come with any ink though, so you WILL have to buy some.This pen writes very well. I've never had any issues with it clumping or even drying out quickly. It's also very sturdy. I've got other - slightly cheaper - pens which I've dropped only once and had to replace because they cracked and the ink leaked out. I've dropped this one quite a few times and it has proven to be very strong and able to withstand being dropped OCCASIONALLY on a concrete floor from normal height, though I recommend against dropping it at all anyway. Another nice thing is that you can screw the cap onto the top of the pen while you're using it.This is definitely a good pen and you get bang for your buck. I'm looking at getting another 1 or 2 of them.WARNING!If you're a traveler and you take this pen in your carry on, be ready to explain yourself. I recently went on a business trip to Little Rock, AR and got stopped by TSA because they saw the pen and mistook it as a weapon in the x-ray machine. Obviously they let me go with no problem once I showed them what it was, but it certainly resulted in a slight delay.

As an inexpensive fountain pen, you get a good deal for the money. It writes. The nib is fine and reasonably smooth. The flow is a little dry, letting it work on all kinds of paper without making a mess. The converter is solid. It's easy to clean. Nice pen.As a statement piece, its weird and beautiful and amazing. The kitch is retro, punk, goth--the apex of biker stoner wizard badass tacky aesthetic. It's so powerful, it influences the way I way I write. I fill it with supersexy dark red ink, the shade of my favorite lipstick, and the dark and naughty notes slide languidly onto the paper.This pen sets a high bar for what you write with it. It doesn't want to cross asparagus off your grocery list. It wants to list the dangerous components of a love spell or directions to that liquor store in Mesquite you're going to rob.I have the similar pen with the cobra finial and together these pens have gotten me in no end of trouble. They are brilliant and wonderful. But know what you're getting into....

The look of this pen is awesome. I get a lot of compliments when people see it. It’s heavier than most but I like it. Only down side it the nib isn’t that great and the ink flow can be uneven or dry at times but over all I love the pen

I like the way the pen looks it writes well the ink flow could be a little bit more but still it writes well enough. It's a little top heavy when you put the cap on the back side but if you don't it writes very well and it seems to be well balanced. I like it ,it's definitely a conversation starter. I would definitely recommend this pen to anybody that likes that style and it's just plain cool.

I like the pen, don't get me wrong. I think it's really cool looking and writes well. The ink does flow faster than I expected so I had trouble with a bit of leak and smudging at first, but when I lightened up my touch, that issue wasn't so bad.Now, as to why I am only giving it 3 out of 5 stars. The bottom of the pen broke off. I use the pen a lot at work. So, to that end, I usually just screw the skull "top" of the pen to the bottom. I like the weight, honestly. And yes, it looks bad a&&.However, when I went to screw the top off of the bottom and put it back over the nib, the bottom broke off and stayed attached to the cap. I had to wiggle it slightly to unscrew the piece from inside the cap and get the cap back over the nib. I think the weight of the cap just broke it off, to be candid. It's a great pen, and the broken bottom doesn't stop it from writing well and, still, looking pretty wicked, but I can't put the cap onto the bottom of the pen anymore and that's a shame.The pictures will explain.

Really like the pen. It's heavy and feels good in your hand. A lot of the weight is in the cap, so when you uncap for writing, it's handles well. Need to unscrew the back to fill pen, but it unveils a transparent ink area which is great for preventing over twisting on the mechanism. Writes very well, I like the fine nib.
