Beau livre, mais reçu un peu abîmé sur la tranche du livre. Le livre n'est pas emballé sous plastique, c dommage.

If you love Raymond Briggs The Snowman story you will adore this book. I would say it's more of a children's book and is perfect to read as a bedtime story. However as a adult I also enjoyed reading it and I also loved the black and white illustrations throughout, just adorable.

Michael Morpurgo is a literary genius so I couldn't wait to see what he would produce when I saw he was writing his own take on Raymond Briggs' classic.Morpurgo manages to stay true to the film version (which in itself deviated slightly from Briggs' original but managed to become a classic in its own right) whilst still making it his own. I feel this version will rightly become a classic too in years to come.The added detail of young James' speech impediment, and the addition his of Grandma experiencing the magic of the snowman with him enhance the plot and give it extra charm.I cannot wait to share this with my class the week before the Christmas holidays. It's the perfect anticipation builder during what is already a very magical time for children.

購入時は全く気付かなかったのですが、表紙が2重（と言えばよいでしょうか？）になっていて、初めの表紙が丸くくり抜かれており、その後のページの絵が顔を覗かせています。タイトルなども銀色のエンボス加工でペーパーバックとは思えない美しい仕上がりとなっています。勿論、中のイラストは色黒ですが、最初の表紙をめくって現れるカラーの絵がとても美しくスノーマンの世界へいざなってくれる感じがします。大人でも子供でもお勧めしたい本の一つです。
