One of the most comprehensive guides on SIP that I had read
I purchased this book as a reference to SIP and in order to improve my knowledge in VOIP protocols. I started to read it and I just could not stop - this books is written in a very user-friendly style, explains a lot of aspects of SIP and I beleive that it will be one of the books on the self in my office.I had not finished the book yet but I can tell that for me reading a book is much better then reading RFC's from internet on the computer screen and I feel that I receive the same amount of the knowledge from this book as if I would have spent hours on the internet looking for proper material.Hope that helps.

Happy customer
This is the first time I bought books from Amazon.Prompt delivery, much faster than I expected. The disappointment is that the book cover is dirty! The content is excellent, exactly the info I am after.

Excellent book
This book is well-written, and has a TON of information in it. Much of the book may not apply to your particular SIP implementation, but I can tell you that the information you need is in this book. Not an easy read from cover-to-cover, but if you use it for periodic reference, it's great.

Beware - the Kindle Edition is not the third edition
Even though this page seems to indicate that the Kindle Edition of the book is the third edition of the book, it is not. It is the second edition of the book. There are substantive additions to the third edition. No one at Amazon seemed to be able to tell me if or when the third edition of the book might be available on Kindle, so for now, it's back to 20th century technology - carting around three inches of paper and cardboard.

The Annotated RFC 3261 - Almost
Clearly written, think of it as a concise, annotated summary of RFC 3261, with other content drawn from related RFCs. For the absolute definitive answers you will, of course, need to wade through the many RFCs associated with SIP. However, for most purposes this book saves you the trouble.

Clear and Concise Coverage of SIP
Despite some typos, this is a very clear & concise guide to SIP with excellent call flow diagrams and coverage of related functionality such as NAT traversal, IM and presence or mobility.
