Easy and safe - review of small size
I was initially hesitant to buy this because some reviews say it’s different than the newborn size. That was not the case.I was gifted the newborn size and my 2.5 month baby is just about too long for it so for the last two weeks I’ve been trying to figure out what to do next because some reviews said they loved the newborn size but the small was different. I should have just bought the small size because I ended up with two other swaddles that I’ve since had to return in the interim.I’ve attached photos showing the two next to each other (the peach one is the newborn size) and as far as I can tell the only difference is the small size has two zippers and zips from bottom to top.My baby doesn’t like to be swaddled but she needs to be...she basically just hates sleeping and is super active. The reason I swaddle her is because she likes to play with her hands and keep herself awake. She cries if I swaddle her arms down but if I put them up by her chin like she’s praying that’s our compromise. She usually pulls her right arm out within a few minutes so if you need a swaddle that’s more constricting this might not work unless you swaddle arms down. All I’m going for is it distracts her while she’s fighting to escape but the fight wears her out and she ends up asleep one arm in and one arm out. Whatever works, right? The reason I like this swaddle best in the end is that no matter what extreme wiggling she does it in, it never rides up over her face. I had the zippadee zip because I thought that would work best since she ends up with at least one arm out in the end anyway but it would keep her from playing with her hands...thank goodness I tried it out while I was still awake because she raised her arms up over her head and it covered her nose up. Anyway, this works to prevent her from keeping herself awake as much as I can reasonably hope for without risking suffocation so it’s a mom win in my book. From a quality standpoint the newborn size took many washes and stretching easily and shows no signs of wear and both my baby and my friends’ baby used it for a total of probably 5-6 months. The small size has only gone through 1 wash and a few nights so far but all looks good. I will update my review if that changes so assume all is well if I don’t.PS - I don’t really use the zip from the bottom to change a diaper feature because as soon as I touch her she wakes up...but maybe a good concept for a baby that sleeps more soundly!

Item sent not as described in listing or photos!!!
Item photos and description on listing are of the Muslin sleepsack. I received the Muslin sleepsack SWADDLE. After I received product, I noticed the word swaddle in the TITLE. This listing is misleading and once again I have to return another halo sleepsack that didn’t match the product description. The last halo sleepsack I ordered had described a product with a TOG rating of 0.5 and what I received was a TOG rating of 1.5.That being said, the product itself looks great but I’m too annoyed to give more than 1 star.FIX!!!

Soft and durable
I purchased this cotton sleepsack swaddle, because I needed something cool to use during the summer. I have a fleece one, but it was too hot to use in the summer. The cotton fabric is the perfect thickness. It's breathable but still keeps my daughter warm when wearing a short-sleeve onesie. The cotton is stretchier than the fleece so I do have a bit of a hard time getting it snug enough that she can't get an arm out. However, she seems to want to have an arm out, so it's not a big problem for us. I really like that you can zip it from the top or the bottom. It makes diaper changes in the middle of the night much easier. The top of the zipper has a fabric cover so the zipper doesn't bother the baby.I would recommend using both the weight and length recommendations when choosing which size swaddle to get. My daughter is 6 weeks old. She weighs just over 11 pounds but is 23 inches long. The newborn size, which is for infants up to 12 pounds, is starting to become too short for her, mostly because she likes to kick her legs A LOT when she's sleeping. The small, which is for infants from 13 pounds and up and 23-26 inches, is long enough with plenty of room to grow.

Runs way to hot and too much fabric
I like the idea and it does work somewhat.A few of my concerns:Waaay too much fabric for a newborn size, my baby was born at 7.14lbs and is 21”. He is 2 weeks old. From the beginning he would turn to his side in his sleep because of his startle reflex. So I needed something to ease my new mom mind. This looked great. It works well enough to keep his legs from flailing and him turning over in his sleep, also I wrap him arms out cause he loves to self soothe. But it has so much damn material and it bunches everywhere, shoulder, back and legs. I don’t get it??? My main, main concern is, I woke up during one feeding sessions(3rd night of use) and my baby was so sweaty he soaked through the back, which is layered. I had only put him in a long sleeve onesies as I didn’t want his arms too exposed, but omg , I felt so bad for him. Basically he has to sleep in just a diaper. This is with my house running at 69-70 degrees. The swaddle ends up wrapping around so much it’s like he’s in 3 layers of clothes.I’m not happy about this and how overheated he got in the night. ALSO, changing is a bitch, I have to completely undo him, don’t let the zipper fool you, you have to undo them, with that loud velcro, forget it. I will still use this because I am worried he will flip which this prevents BUT only until he is heavier and the startle reflex stops. Then I’m getting rid of it.Sad baby and mom.

Not all its cracked up to be
Was really hoping this swaddle blanket would work for us, but it just didn't. The swaddle portion seems to HIGH up on the body, i'm wrapping up baby's neck as much as her arms, i can't see how the option to swaddle JUST the torso would even work. The velcro is somewhat too LOUD, if thats a thing. It startles my LO when I tryp open it up for night feeds, and then she's inconsolable afterwards and will not be reswaddles in this sack and we have to go back to a traditional swaddle and much pacing and rocking to get back to sleep. The material is nice, but it shrinks quite a bit, it should have accommodated our LO length with some room to grow, but after the first wash it shrunk significantly leaving very little room for her legs as she is now, not to mention in a few more weeks. We will be returning sadly... and onto find something else.

Don't get what the fuss is about
I've never found a time that this garment has been more useful or good at a specific task than any other garment. For swaddling at night? Swaddles are better. For one or both arms out? Swaddles are better. for changing diapers? Yeah, swaddles are kinda still better because you don't have to tear the incredibly loud velcro off a swaddle in order to access the diaper. The swaddle wings on this are so massive it's impossible to get a snug swaddle, the velcro gets caught on everything and itself, and the roughness of the velcro and has put tears on my couch fabric and other clothes. My baby doesn't sleep any better in this than in a swaddle so I don't think this is really worth it.

Not safe in my opinion
Bought this to transition from swaddle blankets as my son was starting to break loose no matter how tight. Wanted something to use to transition him since he will likely start rolling soon. The velcro is super loud. And it has to be tight like super tight or they can get the wings over their head... well when it's that tight he grunts and cries and screams because he is trapped like too trapped. I think we used it a total of 3 nights 🙄 another swaddle bites the dust. Just do yourself a favor and sleep sack.

Not what I expected
I am disappointed in this swaddle sleep sack. My 5 week old son was busting out of his blanket swaddle and because I used Halo sleep sacks with his older brother and loved them, I thought I'd give this a shot. It didn't work for us, not only was my son's arms too long to properly swaddle by his side, but he was able to yank his arms up and out, no matter how tightly I swaddled him. So if you have a strong baby, I would suggest skipping this swaddle sack and buy one that keeps their arms securely enclosed. I really wanted to like it but it just didn't work for us.

New parent much have
When in hospital learning to swaddle was such a pain. This makes is so much easier and our daughter slept so well in it.Halos sleep sacs are also great.Only Downside is the Velcro can be a little loud which doesn’t seem to bug baby too much. Also make sure the Velcro is stuck together when washing.
