Wheels Manufacturing One Speed Conversion Set with 16T Cog, Black

The lock ring stripped after swapping the cog. I contacted Wheels Manufacture to see if I can purchase a replacement lock ring, and too my surprise you have to buy the entire kit. It would been great if it lasted longer and if they sold replacement parts.

I finally decided to go with a SS conversion for my Soma Juice and after looking around I feel this was the best looking one for the price. I wanted something simple with a good amount of spacers to adjust to my liking. This fits the bill. Only reason I put 4 stars is because the cog that comes with it, the teeth seems to be off because it would run smoothly half way then feel tight and stuck. Although I used an old 8 speed chain and it works fine. I think with a SS specific chain it would work. I got a niner cog and it works perfect with my old sram 9 speed chain.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it spec'ed a 16t cog, but was shipped with a 17t. This actually worked out perfect for me since I almost ordered a separate 17t (for $8, shipped) since my other wheel set has a 16t already on it and I wanted to try out a 17t. but decided to hold off on it. For someone who already knew that a 16t was exactly what they wanted, this could be an issue for them.

This is a great kit for the money. I used this on my Vuelta Zerolite Track Wheelset that I have installed on my fixie. I would have liked to have one more thin spacer to get my chain-line perfect and maybe even a couple different cog sizes to mess around with.

The kit is good. I wish it would have come with more than one cog, like perhaps also an 18 and a 17, but for the price the included 16 is good. It's just hard to guess at what gear ratio you need without trying it first. No problems with the product though. Works as designed. The many different spacers allowed me to set up the chain line perfectly.

This kit gives a number of spacers to get the right placement of the cog so it lines up with the front chain ring. The supplied 16t cog is wider than the sprockets on a (9-10 speed) cassette so a thin chain might not fit or might be tight (depending on the chain) but you can use an existing cog from a cassette if that is the case.

I turned my multi speed rear wheel into a single speed with ease with this kit with all quality material, i do recommend this product!

If you are looking for a single speed spacer kit this is a great package. However, you will want to get yourself a better cog to use. This thin cog will dig in and destroy a freewheel under high torque.Check out Endless Bikes or Surly cogs to use with the spacer kit.
