Easy Way to Install Spot/Fog Lights
If you don't want to install a bull bar (or a push plate as we used to call them when I was younger) this is a modern solution for mounting fog/spot lights onto your vehicle. A couple of thoughts, first, If you have a rubber bumper that isn't SECURELY mounted to the front of your vehicle, the lights will shake or vibrate as you drive. I know this because in my other truck (Nissan Murano) I had this problem with a brush bar I installed and the best I could do was to mitigate it by installing a metal plate behind the plastic bumper for rigidity. The same solution may be needed here (2102 Ford Escape). But if your front license plate bracket secures itself to a metal part of your car, you're all set to go. The other point I would bring up is that currently there are several versions of this bracket on Amazon now, look around, there are some variations. I've noticed that it comes in different finishes, a rough coated one and a smooth powder coated one. All versions seem to be sturdy and heavy. My version seems to have enough holes in it to accommodate most styles of front license plate brackets. Recommended

Great idea, doesn't quite work on most vehicles.
This will not work for you unless you're mounting this to a steel bumper or something similarly rigid. On my standard plastic front bumper on a 2012 Pilot, this thing wobbles too much to mount lights on. They just bounce all over the place. I tried...

Great Product, But Not Universal
Earlier comments that this is more appropriate for a truck, not a car, are correct. I ended up not using it on our new Subaru Ascent, but am keeping it for use on another vehicle. This thing is a beast. Just under four pounds. If you intend to mount it to a plastic bumper cover, it’s heavy enough to make the cover warp over time. Also, check the mounting surface on your vehicle before ordering. Unless it is exactly parallel with the street, you will likely have fitment issues. In my case, the mounting surface under the bumper canted upward and the surface the plate mounts to would have rubbed against the bumper fascia, causing damage. Not a bad product, just not as universal as I was hoping.

Used as a license bracket replacement instead
Honestly didn't even use it to mount a light bar. Needed a new front license bracket on my older car. There was enough holes on new bracket to line up with front metal bumper and jus bolt up. Very sturdy.

Solid construction. Unobtrusive.
Very solid construction. Mounted on a 2001 Tacoma. Drilled out my licence plate holes and attached with stainless steel bolts, washers, and locking nuts. Also drilled pilot holes in my bumper for the lower mounts and attached with self tapping stainless screws. Holds solid on the bumper. It wouldn't be solid using the licence plate screws alone.

ITS HEAVIER THAN IT LOOKS!
This a a really heavy duty plate. Not sure of the gauge but it is just over 1/16" thick and weights around 5 lbs. I havent mounted it yet as I want to bend the bottom 1/3 of the plate backwards for better ground clearance, and I haven't been able to bend it. ITS THICK. Worth the money 100%. If you are going to attach to a plastic bumper, consider installing rivet nuts first.

Big and strong - for a truck, not a car.
This is definitely more appropriate for a truck with large lights than for a car with small lights. It's very heavy-duty and the mounting bracket sticks out pretty far to provide clearance for large lights. The weight may be beyond the limit of a plastic license plate mount to support, and the size is overkill for small fog lights on a car.
