Martin Parr: Life's a Beach

pretty book for a beach house. Interesting, quirky well photographed shots of people at the beach. The cover is beautiful- it is cloth.

Different than what I thought it would be. Some of the photos are too "warts & all" for me. A slice of life at beaches around the world, but I guess I like the romanticized version better!

Not the most generous size. But the combination of value and phenomenal content (not to mention the exquisite cover) make this easy to recommend.

The funniest and most colorfull viewing into beachlife.Makes me smile and want to look again and again. Happy book.

It is such a pity. I bought this fine publication by Martin Parr and the content stood up to my (high!) expectations. Regrettably Amazon did a very poor job packaging this fragile book. The result is that all corners have been bumped and the carton slipcased has been damaged. I am afraid to say it took away all the pleasure....

Fun, light hearted and humorous collection of beach goers from around the world. Contains a sizable collection, some from the Last Resort. It's a smaller book, but that doesn't seem to detract from it. I've had it on my list for a while, but am glad that I own it now. Parr's sense of humor never get's old and his particular style with the flash is so far unparalleled in my mind.

Martin Parr is a very recognisable photographer, I don't mean as a person but for the photos he produces. Gloriously vivid colours and close up to his subjects without them seeming to know he was there.This book is packed with this sort of photo, photos of life on a beach in fact. If you go to a beach many of these images will be around you but you will probably not have noticed them.Martin clearly has an eye for these little details and the nerve to take pictures of them, believe you me it does take some nerve to do it all the while at the risk of being chased off the beach, the police being called or simply punched and your camera tossed in to the sea.Great fun they will bring a smile to your face and you will never be able to go to the beach again without looking for similar moments, leave it to Martin to risk the abuse and enjoy the book.

Small prints... this is why I don't give 5 stars. The book is interesting, and Parr is a genious. Good quality/price rating

Lovely book and brilliant photographs. Worth it

Martin Parr's photography is fantastic, as a street photographer myself, he is an inspiration.
