Try not to eat it out!
Rich lather, slick and smooth, and the scent, oh dear lord! it's like you sliced a grapefruit in half and dived your nose in it.Thank you TOBS.

Weird ? It smells like Grapefruit!
As an older guy, I prefer to smell fresh, clean, crisp…rather than like a teenage girl’s handbag. I’m done with the Aramis range, Tommy H, Hugo B..etc. I’ve tried the Rose scent in the past. Really amazing rose petal smell, but, a bit girly for me. Sandalwood was next. Very nice. My wonderful daughter bought me the lemon and lime soap… and I’ve used that for 3 years. It’s really gentle and fresh. But I fancied a change.Grapefruit it is then! The cream is rich, smooth, solid … I dipped the merest tips of the bristles of my brush to the surface, and swirled it on my cheek. What the heck??? You can’t make that much froth and lather from a few grains of cream? Turns out, you can!I get razor burn and very dry skin, but this moisturised… it was creamy smooth.Lastly, the scent.Again, like the lemon, it’s quite subtle , but this lingers and has a very nice sharp citrus tang . My wife keeps smooching my cheeks…and as it’s our 40th wedding in September, being grapefruit smoochable is a huge bonus.Ok, let me be serious for a moment. If you’re reading my review, you must be curious ?I’m saying, don’t be. Just buy it. It’s well worth every penny I paid.

Buyer beware - quality not as it used to be / fake goods
Be very careful buying this, I don't believe it is genuine.I have used the same shaving cream for at least 5 years and I know what I'm buying. The texture is usually like clotted cream and a good amount yields upon contact with a damp shaving brush. The texture of this, however is like creamed coconut, using my shaving brush yielded no soap so I used my alum block to scrape some out of the tub. At this point I took the photo and have gone unshaven.I'm ridiculously unhappy with the whole situation. I first thought something was wrong when I opened the jar and it took an extra turn of the lid to open, the thread on the lid is now twice as deep. Instead of a label on the lid, the text is screen printed on (a better look, admittedly). The plastic feels more brittle than the old jars and the ingrained wavy pattern of the plastic lid, running the outer circumference of the thread is gone. All in all, this seems like a cheap imitation and I will seek my money back when I manage to speak to a human (or a sympathetic robot at least)

The only brand I will use! 👍
My usual ‘go to’ shaving cream is Taylor’s ‘Sandalwood Shaving Cream’ which is a super, long-lasting product. However, when my last tub was running low, I decided to have a change, and give the Lavender version a go. I’ve always liked the scent of lavender, and was impressed that this contains that ingredient in its natural form - so it smells great!I have to mention that this is a super product to use. You only need a small amount on your brush to work up a nice thick lather, I do this straight on my wet face, but you could use a separate bowl if you so desire. From many years of experience, I can tell you that using a good quality shaving cream can make all the difference to your shave. This cream gives me a lovely smooth shave, does not irritate my skin, and leaves a subtle, lingering scent that has received rare compliments from my wife. In my opinion, if you are thinking of changing the shaving cream you presently use then this one from Taylor's should be your first choice. I've already expounded on its many qualities, but it's worth adding that this is sensibly priced, comes in an attractive screw-lid tub (top tip: when empty, this curved-bottom container could be used as a respectable shaving bowl), oh, and it should last you a fair few months. I have no hesitation in recommending this product to other discerning Amazon customers. Many thanks for checking out my review, I hope you found it of use.

Profumazione irresistibile, fresca e piacevole

The best shaving cream I have ever bought in over 40 years of shaving
Over the years I've lazily drifted towards aerosol and or gel based shaving creams but I just couldn't find one that suited my beard. They also have a tendency to clog up and solidify in the space between the blades, (even after rinsing after each shave) making for more blade changes than necessary.A few months ago, I dug out my old shaving brush and bought a dish of shaving soap from my local chemist and again was disappointed, as it took a lot of work to build up a lather (slightly hard water here).Persevering, I found this shaving cream here on Amazon, and as I find the smell of lavender really relaxing, I hit the one click button, and it arrived within 72 hours of ordering, which was excellent service.I see that a fellow reviewer didn't like the packaging, which is a very thick cream plastic, with lavender lettering. I find it functional, not at all cheap looking, and for me it looks nice on the bathroom window.Opening the screw top, you'll find that, unlike many other creams, it has a clear plastic slip over inner cap that is designed to keep the cream moist, and it works perfectly. The lavender coloured cream itself is generously filled into the bowl and is the best shaving cream I have ever bought for building a lather. I honestly need only to touch my shaving brush gently onto the surface of the bowl to get a really luxurious lather. The lavender scent is classy, understated, and relaxing. I use such a small amount of cream at each shave that it looks like this bowl will last me months and months.Having tried this brandI doubt now that I will ever buy another brand of shaving cream, or go back to aerosols and soaps. I may try Taylors Sandalwood, as that is another fragrance I like a lot, but the luxury afforded by this brand is all I'm ever going to need, plus, being a light cream, it rinses out of my razor perfectly with minimum effort. If you are looking for a classy shaving cream with a very understated and relaxing fragrance, please buy this with confidence, it really is that good.It would make the perfect present.I hope this helped you with your buying decision.
