I love this can opener, thus the five star rating. My husband, however, is left handed and finds that it is difficult to use although I believe it should work in the opposite direction for him. It leaves the edges very smooth for washing and recycling purposes.

I'm so glad I got this! In the past year we have gone through 2 different manual can openers. Both never really worked from the start. But this one is awesome. I especially like that there is no food contamination because the cutting blade never goes into the inside of the can.

I like there are no sharp edges. It can be a bit challenging to crank it around the cans if you have bad arthritis in your hands. Otherwise I find this to be a good product.

giving it 3 stars for out side the box design, loses two stars cuz i can't figure out how to use it!

This is a very nice can opener but I am sorry to say that I can't give it 5 stars. It is a good weight, not too heavy, not too lightweight, it latches onto the can easily and securely. I like that it opens the cans without a sharp edge. The reason for the 3 stars is that it turned so hard that I could hardly open the cans with it. I know some people think it turns easily but I found it hard. Perhaps there is a different from one of these can openers to another. I am a senior citizen but I can open cans with my present can opener much easier.

Einen Stern zu vergeben, käme Schmeichelei gleich. Warum habe ich das Ding noch mal gekauft? Ah, richtig - weil ich die vollmundigen Werbeversprechen nicht zuvor aufmerksam gelesen habe.Hier ein Auszug:"Besonders gut schneiden rad - die messerscharfe sphäre scheiben schneiden durch die blechdosen mühelos die reibungslose kindersichere kanten.die sichere seite schneiden / drehen lässt glatte kante über die gestaltung und deckel. nur das glatte kante deckel wieder auf die uneaten lebensmittel zu lagern."Ja, die Gestaltung des Deckels der Dose konnte sich tatsächlich sehen lassen, nachdem ich eben selbem verzweifelt minutenlang zu Leibe gerückt bin, während das "Besonders gut schneiden rad - die messerscharfe sphäre scheiben schneiden" meine Nerven bis auf Ärgste strapazierte und alles tat, aber eben nicht den Deckel öffnete.Und auch die "Extreme benutzerfreundlichkeit - ergonomische nun mit macht die offenen dosen in sekunden zu verwirklichen" hat mich überhaupt nicht überzeugt, denn Eines ist gewiss - was auch immer das Ding kann oder können soll - Dosen öffnen gehört definitiv nicht dazu!!!Vermutlich nur für Dosen außerhalb des deutschen Marktes zu gebrauchen...Ist das also Kunst oder kann das weg? Ich sah die Werbung und musste ihn auf jeden Fall haben, weil mein alter Dosenöffner 25 Jahre alt schon durchgerostet war.Dieser Sicherheitdosenöffner kam innerhalb 2 Tagen gut verpackt und vor Wasser geschützt an. Es hat einen handlichen gummierten Griff, der sich als rutschfest herausstellt, was für mich ein wichtiges Kriterium gerade bei scharfen Kanten war. Die Dosen lassen sich damit ohne viel Kraftaufwand und ohne große scharfe Kanten zu erzeugen fix öffnen und den Deckel kann man wieder auflegen für Aufbewahrung Reste im Kühlschrank wie bei Gurken ich das tue. Dafür gerne 5 Sterne.

Whilst we are not short of can openers this type was recommended to me. The difference is that it cuts the can in a different way from normal openers. It cuts the side of the lid and leaves smooth edges on both the lid and can. In fact the lid can then sit on the can without falling in. If it remains sharp and lasts it will be a useful device. It doesn't come with any instructions and there may be some users who would have liked some guidance.

NOT effortless as listed to open a John West salmon tin, I bought it for. Does leave all edges smooth so no risk of cutting yourself or anyone else.DOES leave a smell on the opener so boiling water has to be poured in the small hole near the cutting edge after every use. Feel misled. I would NOT recommend this to anyone with dexterity issues.

Cheap rubbish. Only used a few times and it stopped working. Would no longer cut fully into the cans. Completely useless and a waste of money. I deliberately went for a well reviewed one and paid more to get quality and it seems I was lied to.
