I agree with other comments that it is not compatible with some routers like Hitron, but that's not the issue
After trying one week to get it to work properly, I finally give up. I agree with other comments that it is not compatible with some routers like Hitron, but that's not the issue. You could replace Hitron with Cisco. The problem is that this device is not able to perform well, even when it is located in a good coverage with 3 green bars. I will not recommend it to buy for no. Unless they release some new updates and will fix all the issues this device has.

Works okay, is lousy with meshing
I had some hopes for this device. Unfortunately, the extender isn't that great with meshing. It prefers if you create a separate network, sorry but no thanks. Plus it doesn't allow you to edit your WiFi channels or any WiFi settings outside of SSID name and password. It won't even let you choose your encryption. This is a terrible product that needs a serious bios update to allow you to edit advanced features that should come with an AP this expensive. If $40 routers can offer these features, an access point most definitely should as well.

Stay away
Had a few of these over the years both from Amazon and best buy and they all do the same thing. Internet fully works with speedtests showing perfect speeds but yet no snapchats load. Sometimes the snapchats load but no Facebook messages load but Facebook the app loads everything. No it's not just my phone because it does it on other people's phones over my network too apple or Android. The Ethernet port works perfectly with my PC no problems but it's been the same BS with all the wifi with all of the units. Everytime there is a power outage the internet doesn't work and must be reset and reconnected to your wifi. (It connects to the router that works but the wifi out of the wifi adaper has no internet)They don't last longer than 1.5 years either with the last one lasting 9 months. Don't know why I keep buying them maybe I hope I get one that works or maybe it's because it's the only one for the price with speeds and range I need. Go buy something else for wifi extender. You'll thank me later

if i could ask for my money back i would ...
if i could ask for my money back i would. it is slow to react to the wifi feed. frustrating to set up. bulk, the size of a 1990 cell phone. plus add another 2 wifi sources to search, connect and add passwords to in your own house. Too frustrating to justify the extra signal. i ended up linking to my original D-link modem 890, which is no slouch. i bought this to improve performance on a wifi from modem to TV of 50-60ft. Not worth it. The fire stick can not handle the bps of 5g.

Extender
The product works as it say but the only downside is that you have to switch between the wifi, it doesn't automatically connect to your phone, And also getting it set up takes Some HardDDwoRkK!
