Custom Accessories 10749 12V All Weather Power Socket

I installed this right inside the back hatch of our 98 Chevy Blazer and wired it up to the solar power I installed (the Blazer is our mini-RV). To the other reviewer that states that "the negative wire is too short", generally, you will ground this device to the vehicle's chassis/frame, so you dont NEED a long negative wire. In my use case, I DID need to run both positive and negative leads all the way to the power source, as it's a separate LiFePO4 battery and solar charge controller, not the vehicle's battery. I was able to cut the red wire to the size I needed and then use the remainder to extend the black wire to the fuse box for the solar power. Overall, I'm very happy with this 12V outlet.

The wiring could have been a little longer, and maybe it should have had an inline fuse. I grounded the outlet to the frame, and the positive was ran to the battery with an inline fuse.

Mounted on my Jeep overland rack and so far has been amazing. gasketed cover plate seems to keep all moisture from getting inside the outlet

Hard to find a well made 12V power socket. Really nice. Mounting is really easy and looks great as well. Put it on my Rokon for a power outlet. Fit perfectly! Very well sealed against water intrusion too.

Perfect for my 84 Chevy camping truck, rigged it to the steel bumper and wired to a secondary battery and fuse box in the front of the truck ran a bed a projector and laptop off of it all night camping.

I've used this in three of my most recent vehicles...works very well, easy to install (you will have to pop inner panels loose inside of your car...so I am speaking to the DIY crowd). I've never had any of the spring-loaded flaps break off (interior mount not exposed to UV rays), but I suppose with abuse it could be broken...but again not in normal general use.Additional items needed for a complete install are: 1 inline fuse holder (I recommend a weather-tite blade style to match your other fuses); A single crimp-on ring type connector to attach at the battery; Maybe some extra 16AWG wire if you have a longer vehicle (only 12ft supplied, I needed an extra 4 feet for a 2015 Toyota RAV4).
