Does what it says - efficient way to protect fence posts!
I was just looking for something to use to protect the fence posts from teh weed whacker... I'm fairly careful myself, but one fence post where the neighborhood landscapers whack regularly was seeing it, and after 20 years other posts had indications of wear as well. To keep it from getting worse, I installed these. Install was super easy, just three nails holding it in, and i feel like the fence posts are much less susceptible to damage now! Steel is fairly thin, but for the purpose I think will work just fine! I have a slight concern about moisture getting behind and not drying properly, but I think that's just OCD. I'm sure it's fine.

While it seems expensive for some pieces of metal folded ...
While it seems expensive for some pieces of metal folded to fit a fence post, they are worth every penny. I have a 10 year old fence, and I pay someone to cut my grass and weed eat. Slowly but surely the posts have been wearing away. I have considered using weed killer, but you have to spray it all the time, and they still tend to run the weed eater by them just to make sure they get any grass. I thought about landscaping so there wouldn't be any grass next to them. But that would have taken a lot of effort and money since I have a very large fence. I have about 65 4x4 posts. I just wish I had known about these years ago rather than every summer think about doing something, and weighing on my mind. The one thing I might change if I could would be to make these an inch or two taller, so they cover a bit more of the fence post, but I could tell that on 9 out of 10 of the posts, they covered all of the area that was being worn away by the weed eaters, and on the other ones, it wasn't much that was still exposed.

Flimsy and too small to completely wrap 3.5 posts
My posts are exactly 3.5 x 3.5 and these give the impression that they will meet and slightly overlap to completely wrap a 3.5 post. Nope, too short. I even tried clamping them to get them to meet up, way too much work to get a substandard result for what should have been a simple screw-in installation. They were also pretty thin and flimsy. Maybe I didn't pay attention to the gauge if it is in the description. If so, my bad. Regardless, don't expect a hefty product. Returned five boxes for full refund. Sent five boxed back for full refund.

Not what you think
Not what I expected. Box shows plain galvanized pieces. However, the item has a painted wood design over the metal. Also, I ordered based on description which states 5 pairs (10) pieces. Someone changed the printed count on the box by hand to 6 pieces (3 pairs) and shipped two boxes like that - missing 8 pieces total from order.

Exactly what I was expecting. Only 4 stars because they would bend as we screwed them in tight to our fence posts--we didn't screw them in tight to avoid this.

2 piece wrap? Not!
Thought (based on the advertising with the photo) I was receiving the Fence Armor that wraps halfway around the post, two pieces to complete a full wrap around. NOPE, just received the partial pieces with all four boxes that wraps around only a 1/4" on both corners .

Does not fit a 4x4 fence post.
These do not fit 4x4 fence posts. I wish I would have waited until I actually had my fence to try these. They are way too small for a 4x4 post.
