starbay New Toddler's Blue & Black Athletic Water Shoes Aqua Socks

I am giving these 3 stars. They get 3 stars for being a good fit, a bit wider which helps accommodate my sons "Flintstone feet," and easy to get on and off and adjustable able strap to keep them on.Why take off 2 stars? Because they fell apart after only about 2.5 weeks of regular use. And by fell apart I mean the front of the sole separated from the toe and the sole inserts came out. I bought these for my 4 year old to have at preschool for outside water play time. So he wears them 5 days a week, for about 2 hours. Granted he is running around a ton during that time, going through the sprinkler, etc. But I would have hoped these would have at least lasted the summer, sadly they didn't even last a month.So I once again on the hunt for a children's water shoe that will last the whole summer.

I was attracted to the low price and quick prime shipping. I figured, "what could go wrong, he won't fit in them next summer anyway." They arrived and were a little too snug to begin with. By the second use, the plastic ball tightener on the back broke. I had to rip that part off while at the beach because it left a jagged plastic shard and a sharp and pointed spring sticking out. The bottom of the shoe is that plastic-like material and not a rubber sole, so slipping is also a risk. Bummer.

I took a chance on these despite other lukewarm reviews because I didn't want to spend much money on a seasonal item for my son that he would wear under such specific circumstances. I shouldve spent more and had a pair of shoes to show for it. A side seam tore open in the first 2 hours my 2 year old wore them, and the insoles separated from the shoes in that same trip to the beach. Insoles that come out and go in mean sand get trapped beneath them which means yuck, and little wet sandy feet coming out of these shoes mean the insole gets flung across the beach which means ugh. The lockable knob along a string that makes the ankle opening adjustable is nice as far as fit and getting them on and off, but the plastic knob does then rub along their ankle and did give my son blisters. I emailed the seller about the quality after only a couple hrs of intact use, and there was some communication mishap and my email went to a different seller. So basically I paid money for something I was able to only reasonable use one time, which is very annoying. Wish I'd gotten on it earlier and had gotten a refund. Buy better quality and hopefully you'll actually get to use them.

Even with the drawstring in the back, this shoe is too big and makes it clumsy for our toddler to use which I think can contribute to him falling more easily. They don't sell half sizes which I would have chosen. So I went with the bigger size. We went to hotel for two nights with a water park and on the third day when our son woke up, he could not put any weight on his left foot. We finally realized it was his left ankle/foot that was injured. At first I thought it was his right knee, then left knee. He could not walk for a day. I am wondering if these shoes gave no ankle support and may have contributed to his spraining his ankle. His foot can move around so much inside the shoe since it is too big, causing the shoe to wrinkle and flop around, especially when wet.

Easy on and easy off, who could ask for better when dealing with a toddler???Although this is more of a water shoe, I put it on my toddler when going to the park or playground as well.Not for playing soccer or anything strenous like that as it could easily wear out the fabric of the shoe sooner.For casual walks or playing on the playground (swings, slides, sea-saw, climbing, etc), it is a great shoe.Also, fits TRUE to size, so whatever size your little one's feet is measuring, if you match that size for this shoe, it will fit perfectly.

Have not gotten to use these in the water yet but the shipping was fast. And we did try them on. They seem very durable. I was specifically looking for this type of water shoe as it is the same as my toddler had last summer and he has sensory issues so I knew it was one he'd wear. Love that it has the adjustable back knot.

Cute but cheaply made. I like the pull string in the back but I’m positive these will fall apart and get holes in them pretty quickly. I assumed this based off of the reviews when i purchased them but I figure my son will grow out of them quickly anyway so i wasn’t going to spend more money on a nicer pair. He only needs them for water play day at daycare once a week. If you need a sturdy water shoe that will hold up for sneaker-creeking, a waterpark, or regular use, these may not be for you.

Wow...we just love these water shoes...we also use these for the backyard so our lil boy doesn't step on bees as he;s playing in the sun-! We ordered another kind of cheap water shoes from overseas on this site--big mistake, in one day they ripped and our lil boy hated them and left blisters, but then we found the best shoes ever!!!!! Truly these are such QUALITY MADE SHOES , easy to get on, cushioned just right, doesn't slip off his foot and the shoe is loved by us and our boy! You won't regret this purchase!--Great for the beach and hot sand too!
