Nice compilation for sending to a friend far away
When this box arrived -- it smelled absolutely heavenly! I was excited to open it and see the products inside. This review is written with the idea that this is intended as a gift set in mind. The packaging, as it is part of the product (has a "happy 40th birthday" sticker *on the inside*) is o.k. It might be improved by a decorative box, or ink or...something...on the outside. That said, it's packed to appeal to the senses and seem festive. I'm not sure it achieves that goal. The products smell nice, and look nice enough -- but there is a noticeable lack of information which many would find important. The two bath bombs smell great -- but no info as to the scent of the bath bombs. I'm guessing rose and some kind of citrus. Guessing. If I sent this to a friend, my friend might wonder what they were. It would be improved by stating somewhere --anywhere-- what the contents' origins were and what they are. As someone who is reactive to corn, I'd like to know if there is corn starch in the bath bombs. But, again, no info on ingredients, origins, scent. They are well-formed and smell nice, though. The candle, "tranquil," smells lovely. It's a soy candle, and manufactured "for" a California company, but I have no idea *where* it was actually produced. This does matter to some people, me included. So that's a disappointment. The soap, which is lavender, is lovely and smells great. Again, no mention of where, which makes me strongly suspect these were manufactured in China, despite being "hand poured" and looking spa-like.Finally, there is the soybean lip balm. Listed as "shea lip balm with soybean and sunflower oil." Ummm...the very first ingredient is soybean oil, then sunflower, then wax, then cocoa butter...THEN shea butter. It's "distributed by" the company, based in California, but no mention of where it's manufactured.I really like the concept and think it has a lot of potential. But it needs a few tweaks to really shine. For many people, allergies and origins are important. I'd hate to send a gift to a friend so they could relax and inadvertently cause an allergic reaction, or more stress. So that definitely subtracts from the festive nature and perception of quality for this gift. Taking off two stars because of these issues and the presentation, which is important for a gift. It needn't be fancy, but just slightly more festive and informative would be great.

Makes A Great Gift!!
This is the second spa gift box I have received from Dear Ava, and it does not disappoint! These would make awesome gifts. The first one I got had a different box which I preferred. This one came in a more cardboard-like box which to me, made it look a bit cheap. I don't know why they changed the box but I highly recommend to them that they use the one that isn't cardboard. On to the goodies! This comes with two bath bombs. They smell really nice. The orange-colored one had a light citrus scent to it while the other bath bomb had an interesting floral smell, perhaps roses? It comes with a nice little candle that smells nice and refreshing. They say it is a hand-poured soy candle which is great! The lip balm I ended up giving it to my husband. He likes it and uses it often. It has made his lips soft. The lavender soap is really nice. It smells amazing and fresh and makes your skin feel soft. This box was supposed to come with a tiny wooden engraved heart, but that seemed missing from my box. It's no big deal for me, but those expecting it would be there may be disappointed. My other complaint is the price. It is a bit high in my opinion. If it was around $10 cheaper I would be more inclined to buy more as gifts, because this box is really nice.

Unique Gift for Special Milestone
The recipient of this gift thought the detail and package was beautifully put together to acknowledge a special milestone for my friend.

2 missing items. No organic ingredients. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired for a gift set.
Dear Ava Spa Gifts for Women - Organic Self Care Luxury Anti Stress Bath and Body Kit / Happy 40thThe small spa gift set arrived in an unassuming, white cardboard box. Once opened thereâs a piece of printed paper (âHappy 40th Birthdayâ) that is affixed to the cardboard by a small piece of double-sided tape, so the edges flap open. Lining the bottom of the box is a large single piece of white tissue paper, folded into three, with the bath and body items inside. The entire presentation is lacking. Not all listed items were included; the engraved wood heart and greeting card were missing. Also, I question the inclusion of a greeting card because you wouldnât be able to write in it if you were sending it directly to someone.Like all the gift sets Iâve ordered, the ingredients arenât the best and some items donât have their ingredients listed (bath bombs and candle). I didnât see any organic ingredients listed in this âOrganic Self Care Luxuryâ kit.I used the small white bath bomb with the rose petals, and while it only fizzed/lasted for two minutes, the rose scent was pleasant, and the scent lasted the length of my bath. I was even able to detect it in the adjoining bedroom for several minutes afterwards. My skin did feel moisturized, and a faint rose scent did linger on my skin for a while. The small candle smells powdery up close, but I couldnât detect any scent during my bath. However, I enjoyed the ambience. The soap is pretty and does smell faintly of lavender. The vague âFragranceâ is listed before unnamed âessential oilsâ. It lathered and rinsed well, but no lavender scent was detected after use as a hand soap. The minty lip balm has soybean oil as the first ingredient, but the peppermint scent is nice.My favorite item was the rose bath bomb, but I wouldnât order this small set to gift as it looks underwhelming, especially for the current price of around $40. Thereâs no information as to where this set is made, only âdistributed byâŚâ.
