Works great. The plastic platform inserts can flex if you push down too hard causing the slices to become thicker or non-uniform otherwise it would get 5 stars. By using very light downward pressure you can avoid flexing the inserts. Overall, very well constructed. The blades are very sharp so extreme caution should be used. Not recommended for small children.

I think they are too big and cumbersome to use. I have used it twice and never again.

I highly recommend the Folk Essentials mandoline...A+rating in my opinion! I purchased this mandoline thru Amazon in April 2016, and for over 2 months I have been using this mandolin several times a week.I could not be more satisfied with my purchase. I wanted a mandoline that could make super thin slices and this one did just that.It has 5 inserts (1.5mm, 2.5mm & 3.5mm straight inserts and -3.5mm & 7mm julienne inserts) so the larger the insert , the thinner the slices.I make cucumber salad often and wanted super thin, almost translucent, slices of the cucumber and onion, and by using the largest insert, I achieve the size I wanted. Fast and easy set up. I keep my mandoline in the original box and it is quick and easy to set up. The blade inserts are very easy to change.The hand guard is substantial and sturdy, so I have no fear when using the product. Clean up is a breeze. I wash the mandoline by hand using a sponge with dish soap and water. It is easy to reach the nooks and crannies to get any food particles. Dries quickly. I also own the Bron Coucke Professional mandoline , which is not as easy to use as the Folk Essentials mandoline, so I find myself reaching for this one almost every time! It is made of heavy duty black plastic and stainless steel and has non skid rubber feet. Take a look at my photographs from today. I have shown the three sizes of cucumber slices I achieved with the 3 different straight blades. Thee final photos shows my salad with a mixture of the 3 bladed sizes. It took me less than 10 minutes to assemble, slice 2 cucumbers and 1 onion, and then clean the mandoline...10 minutes...Can't beat that for fast and easy!!!

This slicer works great! Blades are sharp and foods slice easily. Did not come with instructions. Would be nice to have them for cleaning and assembling.

Great slicer but very careful!!. Three weeks working with product and slices great!

Cuts well but we never really found the use of the inserts helped..
