Still working after two years!
I bought one of these in 2017 and have been using it on and off since then.I finally got tired of the rising spectrum charter cable TV and internet price so I cancelled all their services, also their internet seemed to go on and off about three times a day, always about the same time, not very good for the price. So now I use this antenna and my wireless service to provide TV and internet and phone service.I have noticed I have picked up more channels with my newer smart tv.I use a Amazon fire stick run off the hot spot on my phone and can access their services.I can also mirror my phone screen directly to the TV,( Samsung) so I can watch YouTube, Pluto TV and a lot of other apps.I consider myself kind of a beginner and am learning to get the best deals for myself. The lava antenna is still working great, it's rotator still works. All is ok after two years. I live in the country, 50 miles from a city.Yes heavy winds will disturb some channels, that's ok.Try a new TV, older TVs don't pick up as many channels, keep all the connections tight and keep the amp plugged in.Works for me and I'm saving money.I do have have it located outside on a 10 foot pole on my roof.I have recommended this antenna to someone and they are happy after with it after one year use as their only source of TV besides a DVD player. They cancelled their rising direct TV service, it doubled, they cancelled. Now both of us are recieving endless new deals from the services begging us back. Ha, ha ha.

Plastic deteriorates after 5 years, but great reception.
Good:*It does get reception from 70 miles away.*Comes with All-in-one rotating control/signal amplifier.*Easy to assemble and lightweight.*Averaged $15 per year cost for 5 years vs $100+ monthly for cable. Cable costs keep increasing. Generally, I saved around $6,000 in 5 years.*Paired this with a ROKU box so that when nothing good is on the air, I can stream other content.Bad:*Bought it five years ago to date. After that time, the plastic was brittle and sun damaged. The rotator quit working.*No way to tell the direction the antenna is facing unless you go outside. The remote box does not indicate direction.*The cable that was included is cheap. You will have to go to a hardware store and get quality RG6 cable.* I think you might get a few more years out of it if you paint the plastic parts to slow the sun deterioration. Don't know how this would affect reception.

Durability
I've had this antenna since 2015 on a 30' mast and it has survived ice storms, tornados, thunderstorms and all the extreme weather we have in the south without any failures. I've seen the experts insult and make fun of this antenna but the proof is that neither the electronics or the hardware have failed yet but even if they do today I've gotten six years of service for $35 (price in 2015). In these six years I've tried several other antennas some costing over $100 but none of them out performed my $35 antenna. When times comes to replace it I hope the replacement give as good of service.

LAVA LONG DISTANCE ANTENNA
I am a retired Marine trying to get the most out of my money so I decided to go with an antenna and stream video instead of going with Direct TV or some satellite provider that gives you over 100 channels with nothing worth watching except on 1 or 2 of them. Plus they want to charge you an arm and a leg to get anything real good and they all go out anyway during bad weather! The good thing about being retired is I am now back home, Northeast Texas, but I am over 100 miles from a TV station. Shreveport is a little over 100 miles from here so I needed something that could pick up long range signals. I talked to my neighbor who had a Lava HD-2605 and asked her how hers was, and she said she really liked it. I went up and took a look and went ahead and bought one for myself through Amazon. My antenna arrived within a reasonable amount of time a was boxed very well. Like I said, I am a retired Marine, am not easily pleased. However, I was overall pleased with what I got for what I paid for. I get almost 20 channels, but 12 come in real well, so I will just say I get 12 but I do not pay any monthly bill to watch TV!There was 1 problem with the antenna remote and that it does not work. You put the battery in and it stays on as if you were pushing the button, but you really do not need it.I did all the installation myself and it really is not that bad. Just make sure you get the antenna up high so it has no interference from trees or any other obstacles and it should work fine.I hope this helps!

Very disappointed in product
Not happy with this product. This antennae lasted about 2 1/2 months before the motor to control the position stopped working. I originally put it up at the end of August, since then we adjusted it once about a months after purchasing and the control and motor worked. Today the signal was bad so my husband went out to check it and it needed to be turned however the it no longer worked. He had to get on the roof and manually adjust it. I would not recommend this antennae due to the fact that part of it broke so quickly. Other than that, it seems to pick up channels pretty good but if the wind blows you might as well get ready to get a ladder. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of buying one with a remote.

Very good antenna
Here’s my story. I was with Directv for 8 years and tired of the high monthly bill and when I got a error code of 775, I called for service and they said it would be a $49 service charge. Hell, I’m renting this crap from them and they won’t fix it??? So, I canceled my account and purchased a Channel Master DVR+ CM7500TB1 and a Lava HD 2605 antenna. I live 50 miles north of San Francisco out in the country in Sonoma County. My reception at 50 miles and is great. I get 45 channels very clearly (HD quality). We’ll see how it goes a year or so from now.The only problem with my equipment was the antenna. The motor worked one time and quit. I have a 48 foot TV tower with a Channel Master rotor on it, which I will use since you cannot tell where the antenna is pointing with the one built in and is light duty. Also, the instruction are very vague so plan on figuring things out on your own.
