Lasted only one day, most of it gone the next day.
I attached two short lengths of this tape to the top of our fire escape that goes up to the top of our 4 story building. Birds, especially crows, like to perch up there and poop all over. It is a very windy spot. The next day I went up to take a look, and the wind had made the plastic all crinkled and most of the reflective holograph image layer was gone from about half of the tape. The damage was just from the tape flapping about in the wind. On the next day most of the tape was gone, except where it was tied to the fire escape. All the flexing from the wind had caused it to break and tear. So it has become yet more plastic trashing the environment. The instructions say that it should be in a windy location. But apparently they should say "not for windy locations!" If you have a location that has just subtle breezes, you could use this, but I just took two old CDRs and tied them together with string and hung them up. The have a similar look, are more reflective, and will stand up to the elements better. If you are like me you have lots and lots of CDs that you don't need any more.

Works
Moved in to a new house had bird problems. Hearing them was not a peoblem. The problem was the birds earinf my plant's. I would find bird prints in the aoft mud and my sprouted plants all eaten. I bought this and right away put this around the fence, on branches around my trees, on anything that i could. With in a few mins i heard less birds around the house. Now my plants and growing and my trees have no bird poop. I had to work with it a little to scare pigeon away. I had to scare them Manually with this ribbon a few times and then i attached it to the fence and they didnt come back. My neighbor had the problem since he had a little spot that the pigeons like to sleep and had poop all over his wall. He was happy that i did him the favor of buying this and putting it on the fence. I at times on a sunny day get blinded by the ribbons i have around the yard so i knkw it works. Had no problem with cloudy days. Been bird free for a while now. I do get a brave bird that does go to a spot that does not habe ribbons around. That spot does not have ribbons arpund it because it does trip the lights at night on motion when the wind is moving them. Other then that im very happy.

Effective
This reflective tape really helped me keep birds and deer out of my tomato patch this year. My only complaint is that it does get brittle from sunlight and tore apart. Ended up replacing it once this summer. At this price, I don't begrudge that issue. I plan on using it next summer as well and ordered an extra roll. I have a fenced in area and put up two rows six inches apart tied to the fence posts to keep deer from leaning over and eating the blooms, leaves, and cherry tomatoes off my plants that I had planted too close to the edge of the fence.

This works well for scaring off dumb robins, but certain birds are not scared of ...
Scares pesky robins! I had a robin attacking my car's window and perching on the mirrors, getting bird poop all over mine and everyone else's car. I tried using snake decoys but they didn't work. Then I tried these bird repellent ribbons, rolling them up in my window and letting them hang down the sides, they flap in the wind and the motion and noise scares their tiny bird brains. This works well for scaring off dumb robins, but certain birds are not scared of it at all, but they aren't as problematic as the robins.

Keeps the birds away!
Seems to be working! We have many tomato plants and last year birds were a big problem. We have a frame built over our large square foot garden and we put the deer net on top but have never gotten around to putting on the sides as planned as it would limit our access. Anyway, we bought tape as well as the owls and spinners. Where the tape was hanging - no bird damage. My husband missed a couple spots and the birds had been there. I added a few more pieces and no more birds.

Works for us
Perfect for defending our baby apricot tree's small fruit from hungry birdies. Tree is small enough that we can easily staple or tie on lengths of tape that keep birds off tree almost completely, Wind causes some fruit to fall and birds won't even go under tree to pick them out - sparkle keeps them away so I pick them up and put them on the grass away from tree so birdies can eat and they don't go to waste

Worked for a while
I tied this tape to my fruit trees and it kept the birds away for a while. After a while the birds got used to it and it stopped working. I have bird houses around so it is most likely my fault that the birds were eating my fruit. Next year going to move the bird houses. Also, after a while the bird repellent tape blows off the trees when high winds are present. It is very flashy and bright!

Worked better than not using anything
Worked somewhat on a peach tree to keep birds from getting to them just as they turned ripe. Last year, I lost most of the peaches to the birds. With this tape, was able to get to a good number of peaches. It also made my tree reflect rainbows of color up and down the street. Some brave birds didn't care and pecked at the peaches anyway, but at least I was able to get more than they did.
