Acceptable-quality reprints of great old horror comics
Although I own many hardbound editions of pre-code horror comics, this was my first purchase of one of Toby Press' collections. On the plus side, their softcover reprints are less expensive and, presently, this title has only been reprinted here. These are unretouched scans of the original comics - the vast majority of which are excellent hi-res scans. A few pages look "fuzzy" but are otherwise readable. Since they are unretouched, the pages are yellowed with age and the covers may show fold marks or have small chips missing. The fact that they contain "no ads" also seems to mean no indicia from the inner cover or page one, and no house ads for other titles. The original comics seem to have been produced with less than stellar quality control, with a lot of off-register coloring and spelling errors - still very readable for pre-code fans.
